X-MEN: EVOLUTION TIME, CHARACTERS

Kids' WB! announced on Tuesday that X-Men: Evolution, which premieres on Saturday, Nov. 4, will air in the 10:30 a.m./ET (9:30 a.m./PT) time slot.

Also on that date, Batman Beyond will move to 8 a.m. (ET) and Static Shock will move to 11 a.m. (ET). Men in Black: The Series will be removed from the Saturday morning lineup, but will continue to air on weekdays.

The Continuum has obtained the X-Men character biographies from X-Men: Evolution. Here's a rundown:

PROFESSOR X

Professor Charles Xavier, one of the greatest minds on the planet, is also one of the most powerful mutants. He has numerous psionic powers, including the ability to read minds and the ability to project his own thoughts into the minds of others. Professor X is gathering every mutant he can find -- and persuade -- to attend is Xavier Institute, adjacent to Bayville Public High School, which he has founded as a place where mutants can be safe and refine their powers.

STORM

A former wandering child-thief and goddess to an African tribe, Ororo Monroe now serves as a mentor to the young mutants, guiding them in the use of their powers. As Storm, a weather witch, she is able to summon up extreme weather conditions -- creating storm clouds, manifesting hurricanes, stirring up incredible winds, as well as producing blizzards during the summertime. If she loses control of her emotions, watch out.

WOLVERINE

Known only as Logan to his very few friends, Wolverine is a distant man with a past shrouded in mystery. Logan sets himself apart from the others as he tries to come to grips with his past -- where memories are reduced to a flashing series of contradictory images. Wolverine's mutant powers include his hyperkeen senses, a healing power which enables him to survive nearly and wound -- not matter how grave -- and huge, unbreakable claws that pop out of the back of his hands.

CYCLOPS

Scott Summers is a mutant whose eyes project devastating force beams. As these beams cannot be controlled, but merely aimed, Scott is forever in fear of unleashing their power and causing untold destruction. He is a confident and good-natured leader whose concerns for the other members of the team override his own teenage fears.

JEAN GREY

Jean has telekinetic powers which enable her to move objects with her mind. She also has latent telepathic abilities which Professor X will help her develop. Charming and beautiful, she is a popular cheerleader at Bayville High and often hangs out with the other cheerleaders and the jocks.

NIGHTCRAWLER

Kurt Wagner's powers are his ability to teleport, his acrobatic prowess, a prehensile tail he can use as a third hand and, when in shadows, limited visibility. Although Kurt has a demonic appearance, he actually is the sweetest most vulnerable member of the group. His swashbuckling personality hides the fact that he needs a holographic inducer in order to blend in with the rest of the kids at school.

ROGUE

Rogue is a 15-year-old girl, uncertain and insecure. New to the Institute, she will earn her name over the course of the season. Her mutant power is to temporarily steal other mutants' powers, thus rendering them unconscious. This power prevents her from so much as touching another person, lest she steal their memories and consciousness. Rogue' isolation leads her to be petulant, sarcastic and alarmingly defensive -- in many ways, a typical teenager.

SPYKE

An all-new X-Man -- Evan Daniels, who is Storm's nephew and may look completely normal most of the time, but his super-human bone-growth ability allows him to sprout protrusions through his skin to form protective coatings and spikes. Stegosaurus-like spikes sprout from his arms and back, giving him the ability to create his own offensive weapons. Having grown up in New York City, this is Evan's first experience interacting with fellow X-Men.

SHADOWCAT

The youngest and perkiest of the X-Men, Kitty Pryde's powers enable her to phase through walls -- she does this by canceling out the space between atoms. Her other abilities include walking on air and being able to phase other people through walls along with her. When she passes through a machine, she is able to stop its internal mechanisms.
