DC COMICS FOR MAY

SHI/FIRST WAVE CROSSOVER

Matt Busch has provided The Continuum with a preview of his cover for the upcoming Shi/First Wave crossover.

"Shi: First Wave #1 -- titled 'Voices of the Dead' -- looks very much like it will be in-June shipping product," Busch said.

Busch said details of the crossover - from Crusade Entertainment and Andromeda Entertainment - will be released "when everything is confirmed."

Busch noted that he is only doing covers for the project.

JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS UPDATE

Warner Home Video is releasing two videos of the Josie and the Pussycats animated series on March 27 to lead into the April 6 premiere of the live-action Josie and the Pussycats movie.

The videos, The Melody Memory Mix-Up and Chile Today, Hot Tamale!, will both have four episodes and will cost $14.95.

"WHV is excited to debut classic episodes of the animated series Josie and the Pussycats on home video just in time for the theatrical release," said Ewa Martinoff, WHV vice-president, family entertainment marketing. "Action and adventure - coupled with terrific music - make these timeless cartoons exciting family entertainment."

Here's how Warner describes The Melody Memory Mix-Up:

"Gear up for the world's coolest luau! With over an hour of party tunes, the adventure begins in The Melody Memory Mix-Up as Josie and the Pussycats shake their hips in an unforgettable tropical Hawaiian journey. There's no stopping this rockin' band when they set out to thwart his plans by using all the Island's pleasures and a little pussycat know-how, too! Here's how Warner describes Chile Today, Hot Tamale!"

"Chile Today, Hot Tamale! provides over an hour of fun fiestas as Josie and the Pussycats travel to Mexico for a south-of-the-border gig. But, when they end up in an unexpected face-off with The Scorpion, this rockin' gang must thwart his evil plan to take over the world with his weather control machine. In other Josie and the Pussycat news, the live-action movie is featured on the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.

CARTOON BOOKS FOR JUNE

INKPUNKS: QUARTERLY DEBUTS

Funk-O-Tron will launch a new anthology title in June called Inkpunks: Quarterly.

"I was contacted by the Inkpunks gang last November," said Funk-O-Tron publisher Robert Kirkman. "I was immediately impressed by not only their talent, but the dedication of these people to the comic book craft."

The first issue will feature three science-fiction serials.

Kung Foo Sally: A story co-written and penciled by Matthew Roberts and co-written and inked by Richard Gutierrez dish out a high action tale following our heroine after a simple night's journey through a futuristic town gets derailed and the chase is on! In her attempts to play the past against the future, Sally comes to realize how unreliable hindsight can be."

Pitchbright: A tale of an android's quest for redemption and his search for humanity. Written by Walter Conley and illustrated by newcomer E.J. Su.

Nautilus: A futuristic story of a direct descendant of the original Captain Nemo and his quest for life among the stars. Written by Jason Tondro, with art by "Jonboy" Meyers.

FIRST LOOK: CABLE #90

Cable #90 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Robert Weinberg, with art and cover by Michael Ryan.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"As Cable questions his place in the X-Men, the Dark Sisterhood plots a holy war-with Nathan Summers at its bloody center."

Cable #90 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.25.

FIRST LOOK: BLINK #2

Blink #2 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Scott Lobdell, with art by Trevor McCarthy and a cover by Andy Kubert.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Clarice is lost in a corner of the Age of Apocalypse that you've never seen before. And lining up to bash Blink is a mysterious armored warrior-and the legions of Blastaar."
