CROSSGEN COMICS FOR AUGUST

Following are CrossGen Comics' solicitations for August, with information coming from the company.

THE FIRST #10

Written by Barbara Kesel, penciled by Bart Sears, inked by Andy Smith, colored by Michael Atiyeh.

Persha and her father have never met face-to-face. So she slips through the Eidolon to stage a meeting that will change both their lives. Meanwhile, Seahn "convinces" a few of his fellow First to join his crusade to overturn Pyrem's rule, no matter what it takes, and Gannish's quest leads him to a small, semi-populated world battling the Negation.

32 pages, $2.95, arrives in stores on Aug. 1.

MYSTIC #15

Written by Ron Marz, penciled by Brandon Peterson, inked by John Dell, colored by Andrew Crossley.

Still exhausted from her battle with Animora, Giselle retreats to her Sanctum on the moon accompanied by Genevieve and Thierry Chevalier. Romance begins to blossom - but is the object of Thierry's affections Giselle or Gen? Meanwhile, the eternal spirit of the Dark Magi Guild has been released and spreads its evil as it searches for a proper host.

32 pages, $2.95, arrives in stores on Aug. 8.

SIGIL #15

Written by Mark Waid, penciled by Paul Pelletier, inked by Mike Perkins, colored by Jason Lambert.

The outcome of the Union/Saurian war comes down to one man's decision. It's up to Sam to take a gamble that could spell Union victory -- or cost the lives of thousands of soldiers. His choice will surprise you -- but not nearly as much as it will stun the Planetary Union.

CRUX #5

Written by Mark Waid, penciled by Steve Epting, inked by Rick Magyar, colored by Frank D'Armata.

In order to reconnect with friends and loved ones, each of our lost Atlanteans must undergo a Ritual of Memory -- a remembrance of times past that will stir within each of them either a cherished moment of joy...or a grim tragedy that can never be forgotten.

SCION #15

Written by Ron Marz, penciled by Jim Cheung, inked by Don Hillsman, colored by Justin Ponsor.

While Bron seethes over their escape, Ethan and Ashleigh head north toward the Underground's Sanctuary. The tension between the two - romantic and otherwise - is interrupted by a confrontation with Lesser Race outlaws so savage they escaped from the genetic labs before ever being put to use as Raven shock troops.

SOJOURN #2

Written by Ron Marz, penciled by Greg Land, inked by Drew Geraci, colored by Caesar Rodriguez.

The classic fantasy of CrossGen's newest monthly series continues as Arwyn plots her revenge against the Mordath, the undead warlord who was responsible for slaying her family. If the price of vengeance is her life, so be it.

32 pages, $2.95, arrives in stores on Aug. 22.

MERIDIAN #15

Written by Barbara Kesel, penciled by Steve McNiven, inked by Tom Simmons, colored by Morry Hollowell.

Jad receives a strange summons that forces him to leave Hesperia behind. Sephie's crusade picks up steam and a new crew of volunteers, including the fiery Sabette, all willing to risk the wrath of Ilahn to pursue the dream of a Demetria open to free trade. Ilahn, meanwhile, has returned from "Heaven" with plans for Demetria that start with the destruction of Meridian.

32 pages, $2.95, arrives in stores on Aug. 29.
