MOONSTONE COMICS FOR NOVEMBER

Following is Moonstone Comics' solicitation for November, with information coming from the company.

WEREWOLF THE APOCALYPSE: BONE GNAWERS

A game of hide-and-seek, a dying man's final words, a group of werewolves who fancy themselves to be famous romantic poets, but even more deadly, more dangerous still, is the serum that could lead to the destruction of the entire werewolf nation. Project Reaper: the FBI wants it, Pentex wants it, and the scientists at DNA want it, but look out suits, these poets' bark and bite are equally deadly. The final time approaches; the Apocalypse is coming.

48 pages, $5.95.

BEAU SMITH'S NEW JOB

Beau Smith, who left Todd McFarlane Productions last week, has signed on as vice-president of sales and marketing at San Diego-based Idea + Design Works.

The position is part-time, and Smith continues to be available for other marketing and writing positions.

Ted Adams, IDW's president said, "Beau and I have been friends for a long time and I'm very excited to have the chance to work with him again. When we started IDW, we agreed early on that we were only going to work with people that would bring aggressive new ideas to the table, and Beau certainly fits that bill."

IDW's clients include Activision, Cartoon Network, Dimension Films, Electronic Arts, Fox Family/Saban, Microsoft, Pepsi, Simon & Schuster, Upper Deck, WildStorm and WizKids. The company also recently published Uno Fanta: The Art of Ashley Wood.

"IDW has worked with an impressive group so far and I plan on bringing them all kinds of new work," Smith said. "This job was a perfect situation for me because they have no problem with me taking on other freelance jobs, both in marketing and writing. I'll spend about half my day drumming up business for IDW and the other half working for myself on a variety of projects. Right now I'm wrapping up Xena/Wonder Woman for DC and a Darth Maul story for Star Wars Tales."

CROSSGEN HIRES JAMES ROCHELLE

CrossGen Comics has hired James Rochelle as colorist of its November-releasing title Negation.

Rochelle started coloring comics in 1993 for WildStorm Production. He colored every WildStorm book at one time or another and trained other talents, including CrossGen's Laura DePuy and Justin Ponsor.

Rochelle has also colored for Image Comics, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics. In 1997 he left WildStorm to work as a texture artist in the video-game industry. Since 1997 he has worked for Angel Studios and Presto Studios on such games as Myst III and Star Trek: Hidden Evil. During his time in the video-game industry, he continued to color comic books on a freelance basis, working most notably on Steampunk for DC's Cliffhanger imprint.

"It's very exciting and reinvigorating to come into this type of work environment in the comic industry," said Rochelle. "Working in the CrossGen studio will be just like working in the video game industry except that I'll have an even greater say in what the final product looks like. I'm looking forward to that aspect most."

Upon his arrival at CrossGen in August, Rochelle will handle the coloring of the monthly title, Negation, working over the pencils of Paul Pelletier. An announcement on the inker of the series is still forthcoming.

"Adding James to our existing talent pool is a definite plus for our side," said CrossGen art director Brandon Peterson. "He's a dedicated, hard-working industry veteran who not only brings a great attitude with him, but some of the best coloring skills in comics. If you believe that the person who taught Laura DePuy and Justin Ponsor is damn good himself, you are 100 percent correct!"
