KRISTIN KREUK TALKS SMALLVILLE

Kristin Kreuk, who plays Lana Lang in The WB's Smallville, said that the season finale, "Tempest," should prove to be eventful.

"Well, I can tell you that there's going to be a tornado, if you didn't know that already," Kreuk said during an online chat on Tuesday night. "That there's going to be stuff going on with Clark's spaceship. And people discovering it and there's going to be the threat of a lot of people leaving Smallville, because of various reasons.

"And there's going to be a romance blossoming. And a lot of triangles forming. And it's going to be a lot of action. And a lot of plot twists that -people will definitely have to see."

Below are other comments Kreuk made during the chat:

* On Smallville action figures: "I haven't seen them yet. I think that's the funniest thing ever, and so incredible. It blows me away. It's something I never imagined would happen to me in my life. I'm interested to see them, because I bet they don't look anything like me."

* On feature films: "I would love to do them. I'm not desperate, though. I'm waiting for something good to come up, then I'll do that. But it's something that I've never done. It's an experience that I would like to have."

* On working with Smallville star Tom Welling: "The thing about Tom is that he's a great guy, and he's obviously beautiful and has the most stunning eyes. But he's such a good person, and he's funny and nice to be around, and he's really grounded and true to himself, and that makes it so wonderful to be around him at work."

* On working in her native Vancouver, where Smallville is filmed: "How many people get to do that, get to stay in the place that they love and do something that they love? And Vancouver is the most beautiful place I've ever been. I haven't been to many, many places, but I've been to European countries and I've been to L.A., I've been to New York.

"Coming home to Vancouver is always such an amazing experience, to be here, with the mountains and the water and the smell and the trees. I love it."

* On watching the show: "I don't like seeing the finished product of my work, because I don't like watching myself act. Sometimes I do. You know, it's very important to watch yourself so you can learn what works and doesn't work.

"Actors are often very critical of themselves and their work. So when I do see it, though, you have to just look at the character and Lana herself. She's grown on me over the last few months. She's become more strong and more intelligent and more independent, and she's got a business going, and I think that's great for her, and a huge responsibility.

"And I've grown to really like her as a person. But at the beginnings, I was a little unsure about her."

* On being a spokesperson for Neutrogena: That blew me away when they said they'd want to work with me. You never expect these things. You never expect to be a spokesmodel or on a list of people."

* If she could star in a movie with any teen actor, who would it be? "I think Tobey Maguire is really good. He's not a teen, but he's close."

* On Michael Rosenbaum, who plays Lex: "I don't know if anyone plays practical jokes, but people just goof around because everyone's pretty comfortable around each other. Michael is crazy, so he's always singing. He's got nicknames for everybody."

* On the popularity of super-hero movies and TV shows: "I believe these characters are timeless and ageless and these stories are the same. They just -- having these people grow up with these powers and these abilities and seeing them come into who they are, and to choose to do good in the world and, you know, Superman especially, it's got all this truth and just and great things and it makes people always, through time, connect with it.

"And it's also got so much heart to it. There's like action, adventure, and I just think it's so easy for people to connect with those stories."

* On reading Superman comics: "I never read any of the Superman comics. I wasn't a comic book person. I read Anne of Green Gables, girly stuff. I looked into it now that I've started.

"It's very interesting, actually. It's such a big part of pop culture, and so interesting to look at and sort of study."

* On her favorite Smallville moment: "My favorite, at least my character's, still has to be the graveyard scene in the pilot. I loved it. I adored that scene. It made me kind of fall in love with the show."

* On the pool scene in the "Nicodemus" episode: "That was a body double in the pool scene. I read that script and I freaked out, because I didn't want to objectify myself like that.

"They obviously didn't change the scene in the writing, so I said, fine, just get a body double and I'll work with the rest of it.

"I was definitely not comfortable getting into a red lace bra and underwear for that scene, and I wasn't, so I didn't. I'm really happy with that decision."
