WITCHBLADE PRODUCTION STOPPED

Production on the TNT series Witchblade has been temporarily shut down, and series star Yancy Butler has voluntarily checked herself into a rehabilitation center for alcohol treatment.

According to TNT, the second season of the show will still premiere as scheduled on Sunday, June 16. The network has sent out screeners of the two-parter and on Monday continued to air promotions for the show.

Six of the 13 episodes of the second season have been completed so far.

A representative of TNT told The Continuum that no other information concerning the show's future is currently available.

MUTANT X UPDATE

Production on the second season of the syndicated Mutant X television series begins on May 29.

"I am here now in Toronto getting ready to prep for the new season," Tribune Entertainment's Seth Howard told The Continuum. "The stories that we are going to tell are so cool and exciting, I can't wait to get going!"

The first season of the show ended last week with "A Breed Apart," an episode that featured Michael Easton as Gabriel Ashlocke, aka Patient Zero, the first - and most powerful - new mutant.

The episode ended with Ashlocke out to rule the world from Genomex, with Mason Eckhart placed in a pod.

"We have signed Michael on for three episodes and will really be delving into this great new character," Howard said. "As for Eckhart, you saw his fate. As for when and if you will see him again, I ain't tellin' - yet."

BLACK CAT PREVIEW

"The mysterious disappearance of an old friend brings Felicia Hardy to the Big Apple in search of answers. But, as luck would have it, a certain web-slinger -- who also happens to be her ex-lover -- is following the same trail! How long will it take before they do some catching up?"

Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do #1 will arrive in stores on June 26.
