DC COMICS FOR OCTOBER

DC Comics has released its solicitation information for October.

LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN MOVIE UPDATE

Principal photography on The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie is expected to last 17 weeks, 20th Century Fox announced on Tuesday.

The shoot will occur almost entirely in Prague, with additional shooting in Vienna and Malta, and will conclude in late October.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is directed by Stephen Norrington from a screenplay by James Robinson. The film is produced by Don Murphy and executive produced by Trevor Albert and Mark Gordon. The line producer is Mike Nelson.

Sean Connery stars in the movie, based on America's Best Comics series by Alan Moore and Kevin O' Neill.

Here's how Fox describes the film:

"Set in Victorian England, the film centers around a team of extraordinary figures culled from great adventure literature who are recruited by a mysterious caller to stop a villain intent on turning the nations of the world against one another. This remarkable coterie of heroes is led by Allan Quartermain (Connery) and comprises Dracula vampiress Mina Harker (Peta Wilson), the Invisible Man (Tony Curran), Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde (Jason Flemyng), Tom Sawyer (Shane West), Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah), and Dorian Gray (Stuart Townsend)."

Filmmakers include director of photography Dan Lausten, production designer Carol Spier, costume designer Jacqueline West, and Oscar-nominated editor Paul Rubell. The film's visual effects are being designed by Academy Award-winner Janek Sirrs, while Steve Johnson and his Edge FX are creating creature designs for the characters of Mr. Hyde and vampiress Mina Harker, along with special fx makeup for Dorian Gray and the Invisible Man.

DAREDEVIL MOVIE UPDATE

Three new images from the Daredevil movie have been released by 20th Century Fox.

The images -- also posted at the film's official site, www.daredevilmovie.com -- include Colin Farrell as Bullseye, Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock.

Farrell and Daredevil director Mark Steven Johnson are scheduled to appear at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Principal photography on Daredevil was scheduled to wrap on Tuesday.
