WITCHBLADE SEASON FINALE, MARATHON

GIVE'EM A CLICK

TNT has released details for "Ubique," the second-season finale of Witchblade that airs on Monday.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"A former blade-wielder named Lucrezia Borgia (Kate Levering) steals the Witchblade from Sara (Yancy Butler), just as a bizarre homicide wave hits the country. People across New York City are being lured to Cyberfaust's Web site by a contest, only to be brainwashed into committing murders. Struggling without the aid of her cherished gauntlet, Sara discovers clues that suggest Irons (Anthony Cistaro) may be behind the crime wave. How will Sara solve the crimes without the Witchblade?"

The episode was written by Ralph W. Hemecker and Richard C. Okie and directed by Bradford May.

ZEN ALTERNATE COVER

When Zen returns in early 2003 with in a new monthly series, #0 will feature an alternate cover by new talent Thad Rhodes III.

"This is intense eye-candy," said Zen co-creator Steve Stern. "We believe that Thad is on the verge of a major career in the comics industry."

The cover -- a detail of which is previewed here -- is a portrait of the alien warrior.

Rhodes said, "It's a combination of graphite pencil, colored pencil, airbrush with acrylics and acrylics applied with a paintbrush. The original of this piece is 27"x39"; I prefer to work large."

Rhodes' alternate cover to Zen #0 will ship in equal number with a wraparound cover by regular series artist, Bill Maus.

Zen Comics Publishing has Rhodes working on several special projects scheduled for release in 2003.

30 DAYS OF NIGHT SELLS OUT

IDW Publishing has reported sellouts of 30 Days Of Night #1-2. The book, by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, has been optioned as a feature film to Senator International, with Sam Raimi attached to produce.

"Between myself and Ted Adams, we have over 25 years of experience publishing and marketing comics. We knew from the first paragraph of Steve Niles' proposal for 30 Days Of Night that we were looking at a hit. Looks like the readers agree," said Beau Smith, VP of Sales and Marketing for IDW Publishing.

According to IDW, the second printing of the first issue is also "selling quickly."

According to Diamond, 30 Days Of Night #2 was among the top 10 reordered comics/graphic novels for the week of July 30 - Aug. 5.

30 Days of Night #3 will arrive in stores in October, and will now contain an extra four pages of story.
