Saturday, September 14, 2002SMALLVILLE UPDATEThe WB has released a logline for "Heat," the second episode of the second season of Smallville. Here's how the network describes, the episode, which will air on Tuesday, Oct. 1. "Clark (Tom Welling) goes into hiding after he discovers a startling new power that quickly gets out of control and accidentally harms Lana (Kristin Kreuk). However, after a hot new teacher (guest-star Krista Allen) uses kryptonite-enhanced pheromones to convince Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) to marry her, then spellbinds Jonathan (John Schneider), Clark must get a grip on his new power in time to keep Jonathan from killing Lex." James Marshall directed the episode, which was written by Mark Verheiden. The WB is expected to release a logline for the second episode of Birds of Prey early next week.
JUSTICE LEAGUE UPDATEThe first part of a new, two-part episode of Cartoon Network's Justice League is scheduled to air on Friday. In "A Knight of Shadows," Morgaine Le Fey is an ancient sorceress who is assisted by the demon Etrigan in her quest for the legendary Sorcerer's Stone. The Justice League must stop Morgaine Le Fey before she captures this object that would give her the power to rule the world. The second part of "A Knight of Shadows" will air on Sept. 27. Below are promotional images Cartoon Network aired after Friday night's episode. FIRST LOOK: CAPTAIN MARVEL #1Captain Marvel #1 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Peter David, with art by ChrisCross and covers by ChrisCross, Joe Jusko and Alex Ross. Here's how Marvel describes the issue: "A new reader-friendly beginning for Marvel's best-reviewed book. Captain Marvel is one of the most critically acclaimed titles in the entire industry -- and now Peter David and ChrisCross invite you to find out why. Big changes are coming for the son of Mar-Vell, and you can get in on the ground floor right here... when Cap goes crazy." Captain Marvel #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.25.
