X-MEN SEQUEL UPDATE

Colossus will appear in the X-Men sequel and he will be armoring up in a scene.

During last Friday's press tour in Vancouver, British Columbia, production designer Guy Dyas showed a sketch of how he interpreted Colossus' look, with an arm showing metal muscles and tendons.

"It was my interpretation of how we could take something in the comic book and turn it into something quite interesting and something we haven't seen before," Dyas said. "You know, the idea of a man made entirely of metal was an interesting concept, but how do you actually turn that into something that's even halfway believable?

"So we decided to look at muscular structure and the idea that the skin actually turned transparent to reveal a metalized muscle structure underneath the skin so that you don't just have some guy transforming without sort of purpose, without sort of a realistic, biological purpose."

Daniel Cudmore, shown above, is portraying the character.

"Self Possessed" will air on Saturday, Nov. 16. It is written by Johnson.

Here's how Johnson describes the episode:

BATMAN #608 SOLD OUT AT DC

DC Comics on Tuesday has announced that Batman #608, on sale on Wednesday, has sold out at DC.

The issue, the top-ordered book for October, features the debut of Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee and Scott Williams as the series' new creative team, and kicks off the 12-part storyline "Hush."

"This is really exciting! I've never experienced anything like it before," Lee said. "I think it's a positive sign of the industry's continuing rebound, and it puts Batman in his rightful place."

"Wow. This is the perfect news after a lot of hard work on the part of Jim and Scott, as well as Alex Sinclair, Richard Starkings, Morgan Dontanville, and Bob Schreck," Loeb said. "Special thanks to Mark Chiarello who set this whole thing in motion and to everybody in marketing at DC who got the word out. We hope that everyone who is looking for a copy can find one - and if not, share yours with a friend!"

"As the issue goes on sale, we'll monitor retailer feedback to gauge sell-through with an eye toward whether we'll go back to press on the issue," said Bob Wayne, DC's VP - Sales & Marketing. "Since we talk to the retailers every day, that shouldn't be a problem."

"Every time we showed more parts of this issue in the press, at conventions or anywhere else, retailer interest has soared," said Vince Letterio, DC's Manager - Direct Sales. "When the Sneak Peek copies reached stores last Wednesday, reorder activity increased dramatically. For the past few days, we've been taking reorders with both hands - and we're ready to take more on subsequent issues."

FIRST LOOK: FANTASTIC FOUR #62

Fantastic Four #62 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Mark Waid, with art and cover by Mark Wieringo.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Any super hero worth his spandex will tell you that everything created by Reed Richards -- a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic of the world-renowned Fantastic Four -- is intended to help humanity. But what happens when science gets a mind of its own? That's what Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo have in store."

Fantastic Four #62 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.25.
