FIRST LOOK: THE AUTHORITY: SCORCHED EARTH

The Authority: Scorched Earth will arrive in stores on Wednesday from DC Comics. The issue is written by Robbie Morrison, with art by Frazer Irving and a painted cover by Ashley Wood.

Here's how DC describes the issue:

"The Authority returns in an intense new one-shot. The birth of a new being has caused the Sun to rapidly age, causing a potential supernova five billion years early. While an easy solution would be for the Authority to kill the newborn entity, the consequences of such an action could spell doom for the entire solar system. Will the return of a long-forgotten ally be enough? Will our heroes prevail against incredible odds? Is mankind doomed to extinction?"

The Authority: Scorched Earth will be 48 pages and will cost $4.95.
