Thursday, February 6, 2003MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN TALKS DAREDEVIL![]() Continuing weeklong reports from the Daredevil press junket, The Continuum presents an edited transcript from a roundtable interview with Michael Clarke Duncan in Pasadena, Calif. Duncan talked about playing Kingpin, the aspects of an African-American protraying a white character from the comics and his fight fun with Daredevil star Ben Affleck. For the transcript, CLICK HERE. In other Daredevil movie news: * Daredevil producer Gary Foster sent out a short note to fans through Fox on Wednesday. Here's an excerpt: "It’s complete! Last Wednesday, we finished the final work on Daredevil. After 6 years on a quest to bring this movie to the big screen, we delivered 20th Century Fox the movie. "This past weekend, we had our first showings of the film to the real world. Press from all over the United States and abroad came to Pasadena for our two-day junket. On Friday and Saturday nights, we screened Daredevil to packed houses, and for us it was the first time we experienced a real audience’s reaction. It was gratifying to hear the cheers and laughs. The best news of all was that the positive buzz about the film was genuine and huge. You can’t imagine how good that makes us feel. MARVEL MOVIE ROUNDUP![]() 20th Century Fox has provided The Continuum with an early copy of the Movie Buzz disc that is accompanying theatrical bags of popcorn. Movies previewed include the X-Men sequel, Daredevil and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Trailers are included with all three. For X², there's a segment where production Guy Dyas conducts of a tour of the sets. For Daredevil, there's footage and interviews that were also shown during HBO's First Look. In other Marvel movie news: * Entertainment Tonight on Thursday will show part of the new Hulk trailer, which along with a new X² trailer, will be featured before Daredevil on Feb. 14. ET very briefly showed new imagery on Wednesday, including a shot of the CGI Hulk with Jennifer Connelly, who plays Betty Ross. Click on the thumbnails below for larger images. * Access Hollywood carried some of the preview scenes for X² from the X-Men 1.5 DVD. "In X2, we know the world, we know the characters, so we can just have a helluva lot more fun," said Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine, on the DVD. "The action is extraordinary. The specials are mind-blowing. It really has raised the bar." "X2 is part of a saga," director Bryan Singer said. "Each movie is not meant to be a complete whole; it's meant to be an episode essentially. And there's something wonderful about that." Look for more on X-Men 1.5 soon here in The Continuum. * HBO has begun advertising that it will be airing Spider-Man this spring.
BRIEFLYDynamic Forces will feature: A Marvel Premiere Daredevil Giclee signed by editor-in-chief Joe Quesada and Stan Lee; A Hulk vs. Thing lithograph painted by the UK's John Watson who has recreated the classic battle between the Hulk vs. Thing from Fantastic Four #25-26 with the two titans pounding each other in the middle of New York and the Avengers and the FF in the background; and the Marvel Millennium Lithograph, signed by John Estes and featuring all of the major Marvel characters that have prospered through to the new millennium -- the X-Men, Daredevil, Hulk, Spider-Man and more.
