X-MEN: EVOLUTION BACK FOR SEASON 4

X-Men: Evolution will return for a fourth season on Kids' WB!, The Continuum has learned.

Kids' WB! representatives could not confirm the pick-up, but it is expected to be announced on Tuesday when the network unveils its plans for next season.

The series will continue to be produced at Film Roman, with Boyd Kirkland producing and Greg Johnson story editing. Craig Kyle will continue to oversee things from Marvel's end.

The number of episodes for the fourth season will likely be nine, but that has yet to be confirmed. Nine episodes would push the series' total to 52.

Four new episodes remain for the third season, and they are expected to air in May. An X-Men: Evolution DVD will be released on April 23, and Cartoon Network has acquired rights to 43 episodes of the series.

NEW BUFFY EPISODE

UPN has released eight images from "Storyteller," the new episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer scheduled for Tuesday.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"When Andrew decided to take his video camera and document a day in the life of Buffy and the Gang, he is unexpectedly and unpleasantly forced to scrutinize his own dark past.

"Andrew's footage gets really interesting as Buffy and the Gang attempt to destroy the Seal of Danzalthar, which has been turning students into fire-breathing demons."

The episode was written by Jane Espenson and directed by Marita Garbiak.

Pictured are Alyson Hannigan as Willow, Iyari Limon as Kennedy, Tom Lenk as Andrew, Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn, Sarah Hagan as Amanda and Emma Caufield as Anya.

GEOFF JOHNS SIGNS EXCLUSIVE WITH DC COMICS

Geoff Johns, writer of The Flash, co-writer of JSA and Hawkman and writer of the upcoming monthly series Teen Titans, has signed a 3-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics.

"This is an incredible time to be with DC," Johns said. "The excitement level within the company just keeps building and building and knowing what their game plan is and where they're heading made it a perfect time to jump on board. I couldn't be happier or more excited to focus my creative energies here. Working with people like Dan DiDio, Peter Tomasi, Eddie Berganza and the rest of the crew it's always been a pleasure, and they're really kicking into a new gear.

"Between DC's universe of characters, and the Vertigo and WildStorm imprints, the opportunities within DC are endless. I'll continue to work on JSA, The Flash and Hawkman, and then Teen Titans this summer with Mike McKone. And we've already begun to talk about what's on the slate next!"

"Geoff has quickly become one of the most prolific and creative talents in the industry, and his love of DC's characters shines through in all his work," said Dan DiDio, DC's vice-president, editorial. "We look forward to seeing where he takes Teen Titans and other DCU heroes in the future."

X-MEN SEQUEL UPDATE

Kelly Hu, who plays Lady Deathstrike in the upcoming X-Men sequel, said she had some initial confusion about exactly who her character was in the film.

"It's really weird because when I auditioned, I thought I was going in for another role," Hu said during an appearance on CBS' The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn. "Because they're all like secretive on that film. You couldn't even read the script before going in. So I had know idea what I was even getting into.

"So I thought I was going in for this woman called Anne Reynolds, who is, I guess, a character from the X-Men comic as well. And it wasn't until after I got cast as 'Anne Reynolds,' that I realized they actually hired me for another character named Yuriko Oyama, which, of course, made more sense to me."

The character Anna Reynolds was featured in the graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills, in which Stryker, a character in the movie, also appears.

Hu said she was impressed with X²'s cast.

"It's very flattering to be working amongst such an amazing cast," Hu said. "You've got Oscar winners like Halle Berry and Anna Paquin and there's people Bryan Cox and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. It's huge."
