BULLETPROOF MONK MOVIE UPDATE

MGM has provided The Continuum with four new images from the Bulletproof Monk movie.

The film, which has been rated PG-13, will be in theaters on April 16.

Here's how MGM describes the film:

"The Monk (Chow Yun-Fat) is a Zen-calm martial arts master whose duty has been to protect a powerful ancient scroll. Faced with finding the scroll's next guardian, the Monk's quest brings him to New York City where, to his disbelief, it appears his successor is a smart-mouthed pickpocket named Kar (Seann William Scott). Kar's a charming, street-tough wild card who enjoys his life of no responsibility. As the Monk instructs Kar the unlikely duo become partners in protecting the scroll from a power-monger who's been chasing it for 60 years. Amidst high-flying acrobatics and martial arts action, this comical odd couple has to work together to keep the scroll -- and mankind -- safe."

Also pictured is Jaime King.

DAREDEVIL, ELEKTRA MOVIE UPDATE

Gary Foster, producer of the Daredevil movie, said stories for either a sequel or an Elektra spin-off movie haven't been finalized.

"We're still forming the story on Elektra and DD2," Foster told The Continuum on Wednesday night.

Foster also commented on Internet reports about details for an Elektra movie. "The reports posted today are bogus," Foster said.

While promoting Daredevil, director Mark Steven Johnson said that he might look to Kevin Smith, who had a small role in Daredevil, to work on the sequel.

"He wrote Guardian Devil, that storyline in the comics. I want him to adapt it himself if we do that for sequel," Johnson said. "The question is whether or not that's going to be the sequel."

Daredevil has passed the $92 million mark and figures to remain in the box-office top 10 in its fifth week.

NEW BIRDS OF PREY CREATIVE TEAM

Gail Simone makes her DC Universe writing debut teaming with artists Ed Benes and Alex Lei on Birds of Prey, beginning with #56 in June.

"Birds of Prey is a dream assignment for me," Simone said. "Black Canary and Oracle have been two of my favorite characters for ages, and writing them is just dangerously fun. No matter what else, the readers are promised a good, noisy time. Our goal is to make the most entertaining DCU book we could, and we think it's going to be hot!"

"Gail's witty storytelling and powerful scripts are an artist's dream," said Birds of Prey editor Lysa Hawkins. "At the same time, Ed's and Alex's work just gets hotter with every page. I am thrilled to work with this creative, lively team. And if Black Canary and Oracle aren't enough for you, just wait until Huntress…well, that's another story."

Birds of Prey #56 presents a tricky legal and ethical dilemma as the Birds show mercy to a would-be white-collar criminal. That act of compassion brings them to the attention of master extortionist and one-time super-hero Savant, a man who claims he can outwit Oracle and outfight the Canary.

Birds of Prey #56 will be in stores on June 25.
