AVATAR PRESS FOR JUNE

Following are Avatar Press' solicitations for June, with information coming from the company.

ALAN MOORE'S WRITING FOR COMICS VOL 1 GN

Written by Alan Moore, art by Jacen Burrows, cover by Juan Jose Ryp.

The master of comic-book writing shares his thoughts on how to deliver a top-notch script. The main essay was originally written in 1985 and appeared in an obscure British fanzine, right as Moore was reshaping the landscape of modern comics, and has been tragically lost ever since. Now Avatar brings it back in print, collected for the first time as one graphic novel, and heavily illustrated by Jacen Burrows. Alan Moore also provides a brand new essay on how his thoughts on writing have changed in the two decades since he first wrote it. For fans of Moore's work, new writers, or anyone who wants a peak behind the mental curtain of one of the greatest living writers, this is a can't-miss book.

48 pages, black and white.

WARREN ELLIS' STRANGE KILLINGS: STRONG MEDICINE #1

Written by Warren Ellis, art and cover by Mike Wolfer.

Gravel finally escapes his deniable ops in the USA and is able to return to his home in London. But before he can even settle in, he gets sucked into a horrific child mutilation investigation. Because this child was killed in a very specific way, it was a muti killing designed to bring powerful magic to someone. And if Gravel can't stop him, many more children will die to create a black magician with very strong medicine.

32 pages, black and white, $3.50 (wraparound, $3.95).
