MER-MAN ONE-SHOT

MVCreations has announced a July release for the Icons of Evil: Mer-Man One-Shot through CrossGen Entertainment.

The book is written by writer Robert Kirkman and penciller EJ Su, the creators of Image Comics' Tech Jacket.

Here's how the book is described:

"Well before Mer-Man ever came into the service of Skeletor, he was once ruler of all he surveyed. He had his own undersea kingdom, one which he ruled with an iron fist. How did this once great Warlord of the Oceans of Eternia fall from grace and become the lowly minion we know today?"

Icons of Evil: Mer-Man One-Shot will be 48 pages and cost $4.95

BRIEFLY

  • Marvel Comics has announced a June 4 release for Marvel Must Haves: Sentinel 1 & 2, a week before the release of Sentinel #3.

"I couldn't be more pleased with the response to Sentinel thus far," said Sentinel writer Sean McKeever. "Many fans who were on the fence about picking this book up have said they were pleasantly surprised, and that its appeal runs across a wider demographic than only teens and kids. What they don't know is they've seen just the tip of the story's iceberg. Now, thanks to the Must Haves edition and lower price point on subsequent issues, even more readers will be able to experience Sentinel from the very beginning along with everyone else."

To further encourage new readers to give the series a try, beginning with Sentinel #3, Marvel has dropped the series' cover price from $2.99 to $2.50.

  • Diamond Comic Distributors has been given the rights to distribute Transformers and G.I.
