SPIDER-MAN ANIMATED UPDATE

Keith Carradine is providing the voice of J. Jonah Jameson in the new Spider-Man animated series, scheduled to launch on Friday, July 11 on MTV.

Sony announced the July 11 start date on Thursday and also revealed additional guest casting and story details for the show.

Other guest voices will include Eve as Talon, Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin and Rob Zombie as the Lizard. Gina Gerhson will also be providing a guest voice, and executive producer Stan Lee will play a villain in the two-part season finale.

Here's how Sony describes the show

"Based on the legendary Marvel comic book, and fresh off the hit motion picture, the animated series Spider-Man follows the adventures of Peter Parker who develops superhuman powers after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider. Now in college, Peter juggles academics, work as a stringer photographer for the Daily Bugle as well as selling candid video of Spider-Man to Empire 1 News Channel, an on-again-off-again relationship with the love of his life, fighting super-villains and criminals -- all the while struggling to maintain his secret identity as Spider-Man. The series is being created in a unique computer-animated style, providing a new look for this classic hero. It would be the first time ever that "Spider-Man" would be 3-D animated. Combining state-of-the-art CG imaging (CG neon noire) processed in a classic feature animation style, the series will combine bright, lively abstract colors including a seemingly realistic neon-lit city of the immediate future."

The Continuum has also received an updated list of episode titles for the first season. Following is a rundown:

* "The Party"

* "Keeping Secrets"

* "Spider-Man Dis-Abled"
