ANGEL GATE PRESS' LINEUPAfter months of preparation, Angel Gate Press, publisher of Black Tide with Norm Breyfogle and Debbie Bishop, will roll out a new batch of comics this fall, featuring The 10th Muse, Legend of Isis and Judo Girl in all-new adventures and all-new looks. Here's a rundown. THE 10TH MUSE: ONGOING SERIES The 10th Muse, which began at Image Comics in November 2000 and is now owned by Left Field Ink, returns with an ongoing series by Musecreator and Angel Gate's Editor in Chief, Darren G. Davis, along with Ren Wong. Davis and Wong are also joined by the Rena Mero the World Wrestling ntertainment's superstar, Sable, starring as the Muse herself. Together the three of them will reveal the Muse's new costume. Bryan Calloway is on inks and Andrew Dalhouse on colors. Davis said, "I am glad to still be part of the Muse's life, The last year I have been trying to recover from the mess of TidalWave. Comics have always have been a part of my life and they will always continue to be in some way - I still have a passion for the medium. "Since the Muse's origin is out there I can now focus on her everyday life, I have some great things planned for her." THE 10TH MUSE: GRAPHIC NOVEL, VOL. 2
By Marv Wolfman and Roger Cruz. The Muse packs her bags and goes on a journey to save her best friends from the hands of Medusa's spell. To locate the mysterious Minotaur she is off to the Savage World where she must first team up with the Savage Dragon. There's no telling what will happen when these two heads collide. She's then transported to the high fantasy realm of Tellos; a place is filled with dangers unlike any the Muse has faced! But more important to the Muse is that Tellos holds a vital secret to her own past. Meanwhile, Grayson Bishop enlists the services of one who nearly destroyed them once before, as we learn more about Grayson's obsession with the Muse. There will also be a new six-page short by the new 10th Muse artist Ren Wong. The 96-page book will be released in October and will cost $14.99. 64-page graphic novel by Darren G. Davis, Ryan Scott Ottney, RV Valdez and Ferdinand Gertes. Trapped 5,000 years out of time, the would-be Egyptian Goddess known as Isis must adjust to her new life in 21st century Los Angeles. Isis quickly encounters the demon Set, who was also sent to our time to destroy the Goddess! Using her mystical staff and some help from a few new friends, Isis must defeat this creature and seek answers to her own origin, and what evil force has torn her away from history! Using her newfound powers, she swears to protect those around her from evil that may threaten their world. But how can she protect a world that she doesn't fully understand? LEGEND OF ISIS: ONGOING SERIES By Ryan Scott Ottney and Ferdinand Gertes, LaBeau and Andrew Dalhouse; covers by Andy Park and Randy Green. The Goddess Isis tries to understand this new world and what evil it was that has stolen her from her own time to be thrust into ours. Isis quickly befriends a young policeman named Scott Dean, who helps her seek out her past to better know her future. But it seems Isis is not the only ancient warrior in our time - as she must battle the Mummy of Sekhent upon it awakening from the dead. By Darren G. Davis and Jimmy Taylor. Before there was Girl Power, there was Flower Power, and Judo Girls certainly embodies both cultures as a kick-butt, karate chop, kung fu grip gal of the 60's! This mini-series introduces Judo Girl into her own title for the first time, with a flip-book issue telling two stories, one set in the 1960s and the other set in modern day, each converging in the middle. THE BOOK OF LIGHTS #1 By Ryan Scott Ottney and Frank Milles. When Judo Girl tracks an international thief into a Los Angeles museum, she has a run in with resident caretaker Jessica Eisen - also known as the champion goddess Isis. But this duet quickly turns a trio as they find The 10th Muse also interested in this heist … more specifically, her interest lies in the stolen item: The Book of Lights! It's said that he whom reads of the book will have command over the Greek Muses, and this is something that our modern muse, Emma Sonnett is none too pleased with. Things take a turn for the worse as they discover that this thief was not alone. But who can be so fearsome and deadly as to put fear into the hearts of the world's most powerful women, and eventually even turn one of them against the rest? "I've been writing Legend of Isis for several issues and I'm excited to see her alongside some of Angel Gate's other femme fatales," said Ottney. "I think each of them have their own personalities and their own brand of justice, and it'll be fun to put them side-by-side and see the differences in these ladies."
