IMAGE COMICS FIRST LOOKS

SCARY GODMOTHER UPDATE
Scary Godmother creator Jill Thompson told The Continuum that the Scary Godmother animated special will be available on DVD.
The special, produced by Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, will premiere on Canada's YTV on Oct. 31 as Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktacular.
The Scary Godmother DVD goes on sale on Sept. 2. It is available for preorder at www.amazon.ca and will be a Region 1 DVD.
"Still no broadcast date for the U.S., but at least people can get a copy," Thompson said.
Thompson screened the special last month at the Comic-Con International in San Diego.

FIRST LOOK: DRAGON'S LAIR #1
Dragon's Lair #1 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from CrossGen Entertainment. The issue is written by Andy Mangels, penciled and inked by Fabio Laguna and colored by Tony Washington.
Here's how CrossGen describes the issue:
"Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Dragon's Lair, the stars of one of the top arcade games in history make their comic book debut. Swearing revenge on Dirk the Daring for killing his offspring, the deadly dragon Singe swoops up Princess Daphne in his razor-sharp claws. Now, armed with his courage and skills, our brave knight must survive the dangers of the Dark Kingdom to save his Princess! It's swordplay, sorcery, dragons, and damsels...plus a pinch of humor."
Dragon's Lair #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.95.
