JUSTICE LEAGUE ANIMATED UPDATE

Cartoon Network has scheduled five new two-part episodes of Justice League for November.

Following is a rundown, with all episodes airing at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Saturday, Nov. 1: “A Better World”

When Lex Luthor finally goes too far, Superman decides to take the law into his own hands. Ruling with an iron fist, the Man of Steel and his fellow heroes set out to eliminate all the crime from their world.

Saturday, Nov. 8: “Eclipsed”

When peace-keeping soldiers in the Middle East unearth an ancient hidden temple, they unwittingly release a vengeful spirit that possesses one of them. This spirit’s only goal is the total destruction of mankind, and even the Justice League is powerless to resist it.

Saturday, Nov. 15: “The Terror Beyond”

After Aquaman frees Solomon Grundy, Hawkgirl and the Justice League are convinced that the Lord of Atlantis has gone rogue. But when the trail leads them to the mysterious Dr. Fate, they discover there is more to this strange partnership than meets the eye.

Saturday, Nov. 22: “The Secret Society”

While the strain of working so closely together begins to tear apart the Justice League, Gorilla Grodd returns and forms a tightly-knit group of villains – a Secret Society whose only goal is the destruction of the League.

Saturday, Nov. 29: “Hereafter”

After Superman makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his fellow heroes, the Justice League and rest of the grieving planet must learn to live in a world without Superman.

BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS TALKS ULTIMATE FF

Brian Michael Bendis said that the origin of the Fantastic Four in Ultimate Fantastic Four will not incorporate the elements of the space race that were used in the Marvel Universe version.

"That's not something that's part out of our lives right now," said Bendis, who is writing the December-debuting title with Mark Millar. "We're not going to spoil it now, but we came up with a take on the origin that has something to do with something that is of interest right now, and what our whole world will be like in the next century.

"And making Reed Richards a more fun character with that kind of technology. You have to buy it to find out what it is, but it's not cosmic rays."

Bendis said co-writing the book with Millar has been "a pretty outrageous experience and new challenge for us as writers."

"We thought it would be awesome idea to see what it would be like to have Mark's Ultimate story-telling and my character moments and dialogue mixed in together to see what that would feel like together."
