NEW JUSTICE LEAGUE EPISODES

Cartoon Network has released story information about two new episodes of Justice League premiering in December.

Following is a rundown:

Saturday, December 6: "Wild Card"

In the ultimate reality show, the Joker pits the Justice League against the clock and against the Royal Flush Gang as the Justice League races to find and disarm all the bombs he's planted along the Strip in Las Vegas.

Saturday, December 13: "Comfort and Joy"

After saving a distant planet, the Justice League returns to Earth just in time for Christmas Eve. While Flash plays Santa for some orphans, Superman invites J'onn home to celebrate the holidays in Smallville. Meanwhile, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl share their favorite holiday traditions with each other.

HELLBOY MOVIE UPDATE

Allan Caplan, president and CEO of Inkworks, told The Continuum that the Hellboy movie trading cards will be released on March 17 in lieu of an April 2 release date for the film.

"We're currently starting to work on the product," said Caplan, who added the set will be between 81 and 90 cards.

Five promo cards have already been released, beginning last summer at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

"The preview of the movie at the licensing show looked great," Caplan said. "We do expect autograph cards and there will definitely be piecework cards. Hellboy is so cool that it should be a cool set just because of that."

Although movies with late-completing CGI effects are difficult to get into a card set, Caplan said he thinks Hellboy won't be too CGI-heavy to diminish the card set.

Inkworks has a booth at this weekend's Las Vegas Comic Convention, where the company is promoting such licenses as Smallville, Alias, Scooby-Doo, Justice League, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Caplan indicated that there might be a new license announced soon.

ANGEL UPDATE

The WB has released two preview images of Wednesday's episode of Angel, "The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco."

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Angel (David Boreanaz) learns that he must track down a retired Mexican wrestler (guest star Danny Mora) to help him defeat Tezcatcatl, an ancient Aztec warrior who emerges every 50 years to take the heart of a hero to sustain his own existence. Angel is surprised to find the wrestler is employed at his company, Wolfram & Hart, and that he has a personal score to settle with Tezcatcatl."

Jeffrey Bell wrote and directed the episode.
