JUSTICE LEAGUE ANIMATED UPDATE

Veteran horror film actor Jeffrey Combs will provide the voice for The Question in the third season of Cartoon Network's Justice League animated series, The Continuum has learned.

Combs, 49, might be best known from the Re-Animator movies, but he has dozens of film and television roles to his credit. Films include Feardotcom, Contagion, The Frighteners and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

Combs did the voice of The Scarecrow in 1997 for the Batman animated series on Kids' WB! and provided secondary characters for MTV's Spider-Man series. He also starred as Lt. Dan Margolies in Faust: Love of the Damned, the live-action movie based on the David Quinn/Tim Vigil comic.

The Question is one of numerous DC heroes to appear next season on Justice League. Confirmed so far by The Continuum are Green Arrow, Black Canary, Red Tornado, Captain Atom, Firestorm, Atom and Hawk and Dove.

PUNISHER MOVIE UPDATE

Carlo Siliotto confirmed for The Continuum on Friday that he is composing music for The Punisher.

Gale Anne Hurd, who is producing The Punisher, told The Continuum that the film's music will be thematic.

"I know it's very important for Jonathan (Hensleigh, the director) that there be themes," Hurd said. "There's a lot of emotion underscoring the characters' journeys.

The Punisher is due in theaters on April 16. Look for more on the film soon here in The Continuum.

B.P.R.D. MINI-SERIES

Following last year's B.P.R.D. one-shots, Mike Mignola's Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense launches into the first of a series of mini-series from Dark Horse in March.

Drawn by Guy Davis, the artist of last year's B.P.R.D.: Dark Waters, and written by Mignola himself, B.P.R.D.: A Plague of Frogs returns to the roots of the characters in the first issue of the five-issue series.

Plague of Frogs pits the B.P.R.D. against a giant fungus that escapes from its containment in a maximum-security laboratory. The fungus mutates its victims, and now the B.P.R.D. must confront the frog-men they faced 10 years ago in the original Hellboy series, Seed of Destruction.

"I look at this story as a new beginning for the B.P.R.D.. Things are set in motion here that will take years to resolve," Mignola said. "And, of course, it was a thrill to work with Guy Davis. I've been a fan of his work for years and I believe he is probably the best 'creature guy' in the business."

"Mike has an incredible imagination and sense of design, his artwork is truly inspiring," Davis said. "It's great fun to be working with him on this series and getting to try my hand at all the characters and monsters that make up the world of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D."

B.P.R.D.: A Plague of Frogs #1 arrives on sale March 3 and will cost $2.99.
