Feeling already unappreciated at work, Harmony's (Mercedes McNab) life in the office gets worse when she finds the Demon Rights Activist dead in her bed one morning after a night of drinking. She must find out who's framing her for the murder before Angel kills her for causing the summit negotiations to break down."

JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ EXTENDS EXCLUSIVE WITH DC

Artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez has extended his exclusive contract with DC Comics for one year.

"My relationship with DC goes back 28 years, and it's always been great, with or without a contract," García-Lopez said. "I always have a good time with DC. Years ago, somebody asked me why I don't work for other companies, and the reason is I feel good working with DC. I feel comfortable, and the editors and staff there respect me and my work. I'm very happy to continue the relationship."

"Many artists have worked all sides of the comic-book publishing street, but José has helped define the look of DC's comics and merchandising for about three decades now," Senior Group Editor Mike Carlin said. "It is a great thrill to have the DC artist sticking with us -- and drawing the DC pantheon as they're best recognized on at least one JLA arc! We have way more coming with Jose, so let the celebrating begin!"

In addition to the JLA story, García-López is pencilling the third volume of On the Road to Perdition.

MANGA DARKCHYLDE

Darkchylde Ent. is launching the new www.darkchylde.com and announcing its Manga D. statue and free online web comic.

The Free Manga Darkchylde web comic features all-new art and story by Randy Queen, with colors by Sarah Oates.

"That's what makes this so exciting," Queen said. "This is not catalogued material we're putting online. This is brand-new content, with a new interpretation and mythology of the Darkchylde character, created for fans to enjoy at no cost.

"It's a nice way to give back, and I'm thrilled we're able to do this. While engaged in new creative endeavors I hope to talk about soon, the requests just kept coming from around the world for more Darkchylde. The fans have been unbelievable. Our eBay and online store sales are remarkable, and you can't, and shouldn't, ignore something people respond to. This is a fantastic creative forum in a brand new arena that I hope comic, manga, and art fans will support and be happy about -- and you can't beat free.

"We want to provide an outlet for fans to escape the daily grind, and just read something that's fun. There's a very real value to that, and I hope it will be embraced. There will continue to be a positive message to the story, that you can overcome any darkness in your life; but this will be a lighter side of Darkchylde, with a decided east meets west influence."

Why not straight manga?

"I've never wanted to just copy anything -- it's hard to inject your own personality into your art, and even harder not to, once you discover how," Queen said. "It's great to have a fun, stylistic influence, while still retaining your individuality. That, and 'Manga Influenced Darkchylde' was too long."

A new page will appear every week at www.darkchylde.com.

The good news is, that's where Jao and Yan were...even better, the cave was filled with treasure! But, you guessed it, it also had a very angry -- and big -- guardian!
