ANGEL UPDATE

The WB has released an image from "Why We Fight," the new episode of Angel scheduled to air on Wednesday.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Lawson (guest star Eyal Podell), a mysterious man from Angel's (David Boreanaz) past, arrives at Wolfram & Hart and takes the gang hostage. Through flashbacks to World War II, it is revealed that Angel worked with the U.S. Navy to recover a captured German submarine with American sailors on board. The ship also has a secret cargo, a dangerous trio of vampires, including Spike (James Marsters), who were kidnapped by the Germans and forced to help the Nazis. When the sub comes under attack, Angel saves Lawson's life by turning him into a vampire. Now, 60 years later, Lawson has arrived at Wolfram & Hart seeking revenge."

"Why We Fight" was written Drew Goddard and Steve S. DeKnight and was directed by Terrence O'Hara.

SMALLVILLE UPDATE

The WB has released an image from "Obsession," the new episode of Smallville scheduled to air on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) is forced to use his powers in front of Alicia (Sarah Carter), a new girl at school, but he is surprised to find out she has powers of her own. The two develop a bond through their shared secret, but things turn ugly after Alicia becomes obsessive about sharing Clark with anyone else -- especially Lana (Kristin Kreuk). Meanwhile, Lana asks Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) to investigate Adam (Ian Somerhalder)."

"Obsession" was written by Holly Harold and directed by James Marshall.
