![]() SPIDER-MAN 2 MOVIE UPDATE![]() Spider-Man 2 star Tobey Maguire is already promoting the film, appearing in Japan this week. Approximately 12 minutes of the film were screened before several hundred journalists and industry guests at a Tokyo hotel. "I'm very excited about it and I hope you guys enjoy it," Maguire said in a clip shown on Access Hollywood on Monday night. In other Spider-Man 2 news: * Wizard World Los Angeles has added a panel devoted to the film on Sunday, following The Punisher movie. Marvel Studios' Avi Arad will be a guest, and sources told The Continuum there will be "surprises." * Kirsten Dunst, who is returning as Mary Jane, will appear on ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday. * Among the tie-in merchandise now in stores is a Spider-Man 2 fishing kit.
ABADAZAD UPDATE![]() Both Abadazad #2 and Abadazad #1 Second Printing arrive in stores on Wednesday from CrossGen Entertainment. The book is written by J.M. DeMatteis, with art by Mike Ploog and colors by Nick Bell. Chapter two opens as Kate, a troubled teen haunted by the disappearance of her younger brother, finds herself transported into Abadazad, the magical world she had known only in a series of fantasy novels. Will she now find that reality is often stranger -- and more dangerous -- than fiction? And how can the surreal wonders that Kate encounters lead her to her missing brother? "Abadazad is a project I've nurtured for years. To see it finally appear in the world, and be so warmly welcomed, is quite literally a dream-come-true," DeMatteis said. "I look forward to a long and joyful collaboration with the amazing Mike Ploog and the whole team at CrossGen." "Thanks to stellar reviews and strong word of mouth, Abadazad #1 blew off the shelves. Once it was clear the way things were heading, we didn't wait to get started on a second printing," CrossGen V.P. of Sales Chris Oarr said. "We know that's what retailers need to grow a title: readily available stock of the early issues." Click on the thumbnails for larger images.
BRIEFLY![]() Chrono Crusade recently made its Japanese television debut to much fanfare. Renowned anime production company Gonzo Digimation, of Full Metal Panic!, Hellsing and Kaleido Star fame, managed animation production for the title.
