SMALLVILLE UPDATE

Stars of The WB's Smallville said that the third-season finale promises to shake the show up considerably.

"There's some big some suprises, especially in the season finale," said Tom Welling in an interview with E! News Live on Tuesday. "They let me in on a few of the ideas and there's a few people leaving the show and there's a few people coming back and there's some people whose characters disappear.

"Not everybody's coming back to Smallville next year," said Sam Jones III, who plays Pete Ross.

Annette O'Toole, who plays Martha Kent, said there will be cliffhangers, with an emphasis on the plural.

"I think every single charcter is somehow in grave peril, which is just the way you want it, isn't it?" she said.

IAN CHURCHILL EXCLUSIVE TO DC

Artist Ian Churchill has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics.

"I returned from my two-year world trip to find some unexpected changes in the comic book industry and some great things happening at DC Comics," Churchill said. "Staying in contact with Eddie Berganza during my absence, we started talking on my return about possible projects for me at DC. I'm excited to be in the position to tackle some of the most recognizable icons the industry has to offer and more importantly, I'm passionate about drawing again as a result. Bring it on!"

"I am very excited to have Ian working exclusively here at DC," Berganza said. ³His artwork is so dynamic it leaps off the page. Don't take my word for it, just check out the work he did on Superman #180 where the Man of Steel faced off against Dracula! The detail was amazing and his Lois... wow! His artwork captures the larger-than-life attitude we have going on in the DCU, and Ian's heroes kick major butt!"

Churchill returns to DC as cover artist on Outsiders #12. This issue will arrive in stores on May 19.

  • IDW Publishing has gone back to print on Steve Niles's Cal McDonald novels Savage Membrane and Guns, Drugs, and Monsters. These out-of-print novels have been in "huge demand," according to the publisher.

    "I'm just thrilled Cal is back where he started and where he belongs. It's like I always say, home is where the horror is, and that's IDW," Niles said.

  • Filmmaker and comics writer Kevin Smith will be a guest on CBS' The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn on Wednesday, March 24. He is promoting his new movie, Jersey Girl.

  • Eden Studios has announced an agreement with Amber Benson and Christopher Golden for the design, production and distribution of a Ghosts of Albion roleplaying game.

  • DC Comics has announced that the JLA: Kid Amazo Hardcover has been postponed. A new publication date has not been set.
