Friday, April 2, 2004HELLBOY MOVIE UPDATE![]() The Hellboy movie, the first of potentially seven comic-book films to reach theaters this year, opens on Friday in 3,028 theaters. The film has been greeted with generally positive reviews and should contend for the No. 1 spot at the box office. ABC's Joel Siegal on Friday called the film "a huge hit." "It doesn't matter if it's No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3, the film is a success," said Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro in an interview with the G4 television network this week. In other Hellboy news: * Selma Blair, who plays Liz Sherman, appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday night. ![]() ASTRO BOY RETURNS TO KIDS' WB!![]() Kids' WB! will highlight Astro Boy during its weekday line-up in the 3 p.m. (ET/PT time period), from Monday, April 19 - Friday, April 30, for a two-week stunt of original airings. The network and Sony Pictures Television and Sony Consumer Products are also joining for a "Big Chill" contest to give one viewer the chance to win a truckload of Astro Boy's favorite treat, Pop-Ice. The Grand Prize winner not only will receive a truckload of Astro Boy Pop Ice Freezer Pops, but also a set of Astro Boy Wristlinx two-way watch communicators.
