DC COMICS FOR JULY

DC Comics has released its solicitations for July.

NEW MUTANT X EPISODE

"She's Come Undone," a new episode of Mutant X, will air in syndication this week. The episode is written by Michelle Lovretta and directed by Tim Bond.

BATMAN MOVIE ON CARTOON NETWORK

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, the direct-to-video animated movie from last year, will premiere on Cartoon Network in May.

The film will debut on Saturday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

It is part of the network's May Movie Month stunt, which will include movies in prime time for 30 consecutive days. May Movie Month features air Monday-Thursday at 7 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 10 p.m., and Sundays at 7 p.m. All times ET, PT.

Other premieres include Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico (Sunday, May 2, at 7 p.m.), The King and I (Friday, May 7, at 8 p.m.), The Scarecrow (Thursday, May 13, at 7 p.m.), The Lord of the Rings (Sunday, May 23, at 7 p.m.), and Under the Black Flag (Thursday, May 27, at 7 p.m.).

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman was written by Michael Reaves from a story by Alan Burnett. The movie was directed by Curt Geda.

HELLBOY MOVIE UPDATE

Despite several new movies opening last weekend, Hellboy finished second at the box office with an estimated $11.1 million.

Hellboy's 10-day total is $41.1 million, and the film should do at least $55 million.

The Passion of the Christ returned to the top spot over Easter weekend, with $17.7 million.

Hellboy topped such news films as Johnson Family Vacation, The Alamo, The Whote Ten Yards, Ella Enchanted and The Girl Next Door.

  • Two days after its release, the initial print run of 88MPH's Ghostbusters: Legion #1 has sold out. "We're very happy with the response we've received so far from retailers and fans," said 88MPH publisher Sebastien Clavet.

    88MPH is evaulating whether to go back to press for a second printing.

  • Deep Sleepr, by Phil Hester and Mike Hiuddleston, will move from Oni Press to Image Comics in August.
