CATWOMAN MOVIE UPDATE

Although the Catwoman movie doesn't open until July 23, Warner Bros. has launched its television promotional campaign for the film.

Commercial spots began airing over the weekend on national television networks.

The spot starts with Halle Berry's character trying to come to grips with feline powers and the cuts to several action sequences.

The tagline for the spot is "Catwoman: Justice is on the prowl."

HELLBOY MOVIE UPDATE

Ron Perlman, star of the Hellboy movie, said that Friday's announcement by Revolution Studios of a sequel was simply a case of good business.

"The film is highly profitable," Perlman said during a panel last weekend at the Motor City Comic Con. "So we got the good news in the last 48 hours."

Perlman said he hopes to work on two other films before beginning production on Hellboy II. He will be promoting Hellboy in July in Mexico, South America and Asia.

Hellboy was "the greatest gift in my career," Perlman said during the panel, in which he fielded questions from fans.

"It was such a longshot, particularly since I never had a track record at carrying a big studio film," he said. "It became too good to be true. It was such a work of passion for Guillermo del Toro, that it became a passion for everybody on board.

"Not only did he make the film he set out to make, he made a better film."

Perlman said he continues to work on Cartoon Network's Teen Titans, where he provides the voice of Slade, and reportedly is doing the voice of Killer Croc in The Batman.

"I love doing animation. It's very result-oriented," Perlman said. "I don't have to wear pants, I don't have to shave. It's just me and the microphone."

Perlman said he doesn't have a favorite character. "They're like children; I love them all," he said.
