Monday, May 31, 2004ARCHIE COMICS FOR SEPTEMBERFollowing are Archie Comics' solicitations for September, with information coming from the company: ADVENTURES OF LITTLE ARCHIE Written and art by Bob Bolling. Some of the best and earliest Little Archie stories are compiled in this special volume. Bob Bolling is considered by many comic book collectors to be Archie Comics' equivalent of Carl Barks. It's easy to see why: his classic tales are epic in scope, as little Archie deals with Martian invaders, secret spies, pirates, freewheeling uncles, gorillas on the loose and more! Who knew a little boy could have so many adventures? Don't miss this collection of vintage Little Archie stories originally published from 1961 through 1965. Features a front cover illustration and a foreword by Bob Bolling. 96 pages, $10.95, in stores on Sept. 21. Written by Craig Boldman, art by Rex Lindsey. "The Next Big Thing." The hottest ticket in town is no longer the Archies, but an Archies "tribute" band! The gang never expected competition from clones, and while Archie graciously talks them up, Reggie's thinking of ways to "unplug" the replicant rockers. 32 pages, $2.19, in stores on Sept. 29. You'll say, "hat's incredible" when you see all the ways the teens decorate their pates for the charity hat show. 32 pages, $2.19, in stores on Sept. 8. Written by Barbara Slate and Kathleen Webb, art by Jeff Shultz. "Its All in the Bag." With the swank Country Club dance just days away, Veronica enlists Betty's help in choosing the perfect date to go with her designer purse. "Under Cover of Darkness." Power problems at the Cooper home force Betty to dress in the dark -- and inadvertently start a new fashion craze that upstages Veronica's designer duds. "My Brother's Keeper."
