FIRST LOOK: STAR WARS EMPIRE #22

Star Wars Empire #22 will arrive in stores on July 14 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Welles Hartley, with art by Adriana Melo and a cover by David Michael Beck.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the book:

"The fear of Imperial discovery sends the ships of the Rebel fleet scrambling for the far corners of the galaxy. Han, Chewie, Leia, and a young soldier named Deena Shan, on board the Millennium Falcon, end up near a dark jungle moon from which they receive a distress call. Investigating, they discover the remains of a tragedy dating from the Clone Wars, and a still-living threat that could claim them all! Fighting alongside the Heroes of Yavin, Shan learns that the Rebellion, and even survival, mean so much more than she imagined when put in the context of friendship and sacrifice."

Star Wars: Empire #22 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

FIRST LOOK: THE BATMAN STRIKES #1

The Batman Strikes #1 will arrive in stores on Sept. 15 from DC Comics. The issue is written by Bill Matheny, with art by Christopher Jones and Terry Beatty and a cover by Jeff Matsuda.

Here's how DC describes the issue:

"It's a time of challenge for young Bruce Wayne, heir and CEO of Wayne Industries by day, caped vigilante by night. The Batman has patrolled Gotham's streets for three years, and, though he's still an urban legend to most citizens, he's made a dent in crime. But now Gotham's attracted a new class of villains like the Joker, Penguin, Man-Bat, Bane and Catwoman. FIRST LOOK: SUPERMAN: TRUE BRIT

Superman: True Brit will arrive in stores on Oct. 13 from DC Comics. The issue is written by Written by Kim "Howard" Johnson and John Cleese, with art and cover by John Byrne and Mark Farmer.

Here's how DC describes the issue:

"n this veddy British tale, the Last Son of Krypton's rocket ship crash-lands in an English town even smaller than Smallville, where the infant Kal-El is taken in by adoptive parents - the Clarks - who raise their son Colin to hide his powers, because the worst thing anyone can do is stand out in the crowd.
