Friday, July 16, 2004CATWOMAN'S SHARON STONEToday The Continuum continues a series of interviews from the Catwoman movie press junket, with Sharon Stone, who plays Laurel Hedare, the film's villain. In other Catwoman movie news: * NBC has released two images of Catwoman star Halle Berry's appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday. Berry, nursing a cold, showed Leno how she cracked Catwoman's whip in the film. Click on the thumbnails below for larger images. * The film will premiere in Los Angeles on Monday. GLOBAL FREQUENCY CASTINGMichelle Forbes and Aimee Garcia have been cast in The WB's Global Frequency television pilot, the network has confirmed for The Continuum. Forbes will play Miranda Zero and Garcia will play Aleph in the show, which is being targeted as a midseason replacement by the network. Forbes, 37, hs appeared in nearly two dozen feature films. Her television credits include 24, The District and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Garcia, 25, has appeared in such TV series as Las Vegas, American Family and Angel. The series, based on the comic book created by Warren Ellis, marks the dramatic television debut of Mark Burnett, best known for such reality shows as Survivor and The Apprentice. John Rogers is writer/executive producer and Nelson McCormick is directing.
MARVEL STUDIOS ROUNDUPBefore appearing next week at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Jessica Alba -- recently cast as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four movie -- was in Detroit on Thursday night. Alba attended the New York Yankees' 5-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. She reportedly has been dating Yankees All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter. Alba, who is also starring in Sin City, caused a bit of a stir and was caught on camera during Fox Sports Net's broadcast of the game. In other Marvel movie/TV news: * The Avengers will be featured in Marvel's first made-for-video animated movie with Lions Gate Family Home Entertainment, with a target date of early 2006. According to the Hollywood Report, the 66-minute film will be based on The Ultimates and will feature Captain America, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Giant-Man and Wasp. Neither Lions Gate nor Marvel commented on creative personnel for the film, although The Continuum has learned it's possible some talent from the X-Men: Evolution series might be involved. * Upcoming episodes of Mutant X in syndication include "Art of Attraction" the week of Aug. 16, "A Normal Life" on Aug. 23 and "Dream Lover" on Aug. 30.
