COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIE PANEL

Michael Chiklis walked on stage, a Thing action figure in his left hand. He approached the microphone, paused for effect and then let it fly:

"It's clobberin' time!"

The crowd roared, the biggest approval yet for the much-scrutinized live-action adaptation of Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four, coming from Fox next July 1.

Chiklis, who plays Ben Grimm/The Thing, was joined by Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic) and Jessica Alba (Sue Storm/Invisible Girl), along with director Tim Story and producers Ralph Winter and Avi Arad for Fox's presentation for the film at Comic-Con International.

And while the film's production doesn't start for a month, the panelists were candid and forthright in dealing with -- and perhaps alleviating -- some of the hot-button concerns about the film that have peppered the Internet in the past few months.

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: ELEKTRA MOVIE

Before the Fantastic Four panel at Comic-Con International began in full force, Marvel Studios' Avi Arad staged a short presentation on Elektra.

"Yesterday we finished Elektra finally," Arad said. "We just finished principal photography. And, as you know, today when you finish principal photography, it's just the beginning with CGI and all it takes to finish it."

A short behind-the-scenes clip was then shown, with Elektra star Jennifer Garner introducing and narrating.

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: BATMAN BEGINS PANEL

Warner Bros. provided the first glimpses into next summer's Batman Begins at Comic-Con International over the week. The presentation included no footage from the film -- a teaser trailer hasn't been released yet -- but the studio trotted out writer David Goyer and actor Cillian Murphy, who plays Jonathan Crane (the Scarecrow).

Before Goyer and Murphy answered questions, a clip featuring star Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan was shown.

"We're just having a great time telling the story of Bruce Wayne's journey to becoming Batman," Nolan said. "It's something that hasn't been seen before, and we're very excited about addressing an aspect of this great character that hasn't been done on film before."

"It is a great character," Bale said. "And Chris and David have done a fantstic job of transferring from comic book to screen and giving the character the complexity it deserves."
