Timed to be published just after the release of the BloodRayne 2 videogame, the BloodRayne comics will be published as a series of full-color quarterly one-shots. Kirstanna Loken, star of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machine, has been attached to a BloodRayne movie. "BloodRayne has built a loyal following of fans and established herself as a new breed of action heroine," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. "With a movie announced, and now a comic book, wešre thrilled to see our franchise expand into other entertainment mediums." BloodRayne is a female dhampir, born from the unnatural union of vampire and human. Raised and trained to hunt supernatural evil, Rayne is blessed with the powers of a vampire, but cursed with an unquenchable thirst for blood and a weakness to sunlight. The first one-shot is written by Steve O'Connell and Jeffery Stevenson, penciled by Romano Molenaar and inked by Marco Galli.
