JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED UPDATE

Morena Baccarin, who plays Inara Serra in the Firefly television series and upcoming Serenity movie, is providing the voice of Black Canary in Cartoon Network's Justice League Unlimited.

Black Canary will be featured in the Season 4 episode, "Double Date," which is written by Gail Simone. The episode also features Kin Shriner as Green Arrow, Amy Acker as The Huntress and Jeffrey Combs as The Question, along with some other guest voices to be announced.

Baccarin is one of several Firefly/Serenity cast members to lend their voices to Justice League Unlimited.

As previously reported, Nathan Fillion is voicing Vigilante and Gina Torres is voicing Vixen. Adam Baldwin is voicing a villain in the season finale.

"We're so lucky to get these people. And they're so happy to come and play," Justice League voice director Andrea Romano told The Continuum. "And when they work their schedules out so we can get them in the room at the same time, we also get a better product and they have a better time."

In other Justice League Unlimited news:

* Mindy Sterling is providing a guest-voice in an upcoming episode. Sterling is perhaps best known as Frau Farbissina from the Austin Powers movies.

DARREN DAVIS TALKS ISIS MOVIE, COMIC BOOK

Legend of Isis comic book creator Darren Davis told The Continuum that he is pleased with the recently announced deal with Paramount-based Grammnet Prods. to develop the property in live-action form.

Grammnet Prods. is headed by Kelsey Grammer, who won an Emmy Award on Sunday night for the final season of Frasier.

Ali Russell is writing the script. Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment, who manages Russell, is producing with Grammnet.

"Ali Russell is a great writer and I am so happy with the take she for the Legend of Isis film," Davis said. "Brooklyn and Daniel (Alter), who I have been working with this for a while, have been really supportive of this property."

Russell, 21, recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue screenwriting and was scouted by Weaver out of the UCLA writing program.

"I'm excited to bring Darren's Isis character to life, as I see her as a female Peter Parker who's awkward and still reeling from the death of her mother a year before," Russell said. "I'm grateful for Grammnet and Paramount for believing in me, and can't wait to start writing˛

Davis recently formed a new production company.

"Blue Water Productions is my new company that I have formed in developing new properties for both comic book and entertainment," Davis said. "I have been working with great creators like Ryan Scott Ottney, Debbie Bishop and Maggie Feeney on some new stuff."

Davis said The Legend of Isis graphic novel will be released in January, "with a lot of new stuff in it." A new series from Angel Gate will launch in the second quarter, and a one-shot called the 10th Muse: Book of Lights in November will also feature Isis.

Davis said that there are plans for 10th Muse.

"We have a film treatment for 10th Muse getting written, because a couple studios have showed some interest in that property as well," he said.

Alex Amezuca is drawing the 10th Muse comic, and Davis said there will be more news about the property soon.

SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH MOVIE

Paramount Pictures and Archie Comics Entertainment are teaming to co-produce a live-action theatrical motion picture based on the comic book Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Paramount and Archie Comics Entertainment will jointly represent a licensing and merchandising program surrounding the film with Viacom Consumer Products, the agent for both entities.

Said Allan Grafman, President of Archie Comics Entertainment: "We are delighted to join forces with Paramount for the production of a big screen version Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It is clear that the Paramount production team shares our long-term vision for the brand, which encompasses pursuing a wide range of media and licensing opportunities."

According to Archie, the film will be based on the comic book and not the television seris.

Chuck Grimes, CEO of Archie Comics Entertainment, and Grafman will produce the film. Archie Comic Publications Chairman Michael Silberkleit and President Richard Goldwater will serve as executive producers.
