DEVIL'S DUE PUBLISHING FOR FEBRUARY

Devil's Due Publishing has released its solicitation information for February.

For a rundown, with cover images, CLICK HERE.

IMAGE COMICS' MORA

Image Comics in February will launch Mora, a bi-monthly ongoing series by Paul Harmon.

Here's how Image describes the book:

"Mora tracks the development of the most ruthless and powerful witch in history, as she grows from an innocent child to a creature capable of unspeakable cruelty. The evolution itself is at times brutal, as she is indoctrinated into the life by older, wiser witches, most of whom are more interested in pushing new recruits to their limits than making life easy for them."

According to Harmon, the series is in keeping with the spirit of Alice in Wonderland and the works of Roald Dahl.

"Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll...these guys created these highly imaginative worlds that we wish we could be a part of, regardless of the dangers in those stories," Harmon said. "Well, Mora will be like that, except the dangers in this story are significantly greater."

Harmon promises that his take on the dark world of witchcraft will be unlike anything readers have encountered in the past.

"You can forget about most of what you know about witches for this series," Harmon said. "Although there are good witches and bad witches, the difference here is that they're both very, very dangerous."

Image Publisher Erik Larsen approved Mora after corresponding with Harmon online, and then meeting the creator in person in San Diego.

"Image Comics receives thousands of submissions. In the few months that I've been running things, I've been approached by hundreds of creators. Some spectacular, some barely capable of making a mark on paper. Paul Harmon falls into the spectacular category. He's one of those rare talents that comes out of nowhere, whose style is fully developed, confident and drop dead gorgeous. Mora is an astounding work of art," Larsen said. "You'll be asking, 'Where has this guy been keeping himself?' as you eagerly await his next issue. Mora is spectacular."
