SMALLVILLE EPISODESThe WB will air two episodes of Smallville on Wednesday, Dec. 8, staring at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The episodes are "Covenant" and "Crusade," which were the third-season finale and the fourth-season opener. Here's how The WB describes the epsiode: "Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara (guest star Adrianne Palicki), a girl with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark (Tom Welling) to fulfill his destiny. Clark returns to his home planet but returns to Smallville as Kal-El. Determined to save her son, Martha (Annette O'Toole) turns to Dr. Swann's emissary, Bridgette Crosby (Margot Kidder), and learns about a surprising new form of kryptonite. Meanwhile, after Lex turns the tables on Lionel (John Glover) with the FBI, disastrous consequences befall him and Chloe (Allison Mack), which ultimately leads to the arrival of Lois Lane (Erica Durance). " Greg Beeman directed "Covenant," which was written by Al Gough and Miles Millar. Beeman also directed "Crusade," with story by Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer and teleplay by Gough and Millar. In other Smallville news, the show will be taking a brief hiatus from ABC Family for the network's 25 Days of Christmas event. Upcoming episodes will include "Precipice" on Monday, Dec. 27; "Witness" on Tuesday, Dec. 28; "Calling" on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and "Exodus" on Thursday, Dec. 30.
BLADE: TRINITY UPDATEBlade: Trinity producer Lynn Harris said that the third movie in the franchise will have its own personality. "We're tried to make each film very different," Harris said. "One of the strengths of the first Blade was that it was set in the real world, but Trinity goes much further than the original in terms of style and in terms of being set in reality. "Blade is now a known character to the police, the FBI and the news media. In the first movie he was still underground. Also, Blade II was much more creature effects, and in Blade: Trinity, while there certainly are some creature effects, we're more centered in the world of action and martial arts. We also have some fascinating new weapons." Adding new flavor to the franchise are such stars Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Parker Posey, Natasha Lyonne and Triple H. "I think it's the most diverse cast we've ever had in a Blade movie," Harris said. "Thanks to Triple H and Ryan and Jessica, I think we'll be pulling in some 'new blood,' so to speak, in addition to the fans we've always had." Harris said it was only logical that David Goyer directed Blade: Trinity. "After all, it was David who, along with Wesley Snipes, invented this franchise. He wrote all three scripts and there has never been another writer for the films, so he knows this franchise inside and out. Obviously Wesley contributes enormously to the chracter, but who better than the guy who started this to continue it?"
