DARKSTALKERS SELLS OUT

Less than a week after the launch of the Darkstalkers series on Nov. 24, UDON and Devil's Due have completely sold out of the first issue.

UDON has announced that the new Capcom-inspired series will be rushed back to press with Darkstalkers #1 Second Printing, shipping with a new cover on Dec. 8 at the regular price of $2.95.

"We are delighted that there is such a demand for a project that has been a true labor of love for the whole team," says UDON's Erik Ko. "Considering that Darkstalkers's strong appeal is not limited to Street Fighter and videogame fans, but anime and horror fans as well, we knew that the new series would garner a lot of interest.

"We were, however, caught off-guard with how much of an impact the cross promotion with the new game and store/print ads would have. Along with the new printing, we are encouraging retailers to increase their orders for upcoming issues, and hope to make them comfortable doing so by going back to press and keeping the first issue in print to capitalize on new readers both from inside and outside the comics industry.

"The Capcom titles will be very heavily promoted. We are planning on much more cross promotion with Capcom, and with the 10th Anniversary of Darkstalkers coming next year, the hype is on and this title will be one of those that will draw more fans back to the comic stores!"
