FIRST LOOKS

FIRST LOOK: DAMN NATION #1

Damn Nation #1 will arrive in stores on Feb. 16 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Andrew Cosby, with art and cover by J. Alexander.

Here's how Image describes the book:

"The United States' borders and ports are locked down against a terrible threat. However, the barbed wire and infantries are not positioned to keep an enemy out, but to protect the rest of the world from a vampire plague that's spread over every inch of the country.

"Andrew Cosby, the creator of UPN's Haunted and the Sci-Fi network original series Eureka, and producer of the film version of Matt Wagner's Mage, teams with rising star and Eisner Award-nominee J. Alexander for a vampire epic of global proportions. Most of the living have fled the U.S., but a group of scientists remain behind, working on a cure. Now that they've succeeded, a military operation is launched from the President's current offices in the U.S. Embassy in London, to save the cure from the encroaching undead-but the real motivations of the military remain in question."

Damn Nation #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

Trigun Anime Manga Wolfwood will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is by Yasuhiro Nightow.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:

"Trigun is a manga and anime sensation, sweeping America with its conflicted and funny characters, frantic action, and a style that defies age barriers. Of the two most noticeable characters in Trigun, Wolfwood plays the foil against Vash the Stampede, with his negative view of humanity and gigantic cross-like gun, this fighting priest is far from docile. This twenty-five cent, right-to-left reading comic centers on Wolfwood's dark character, and introduces the reader to the second volume of the Trigun Anime Manga series from Dark Horse Comics. Will Wolfwood ever understand Vash's desire to never kill another human? Will he be able to protect our red-coated hero from dying himself? Time will tell. Get your introduction to the gunslinging man of the cloth with 24 pages of brilliant color and bountiful action."

Trigun Anime Manga Wolfwood will be 24 pages and will cost 25 cents.
