SIN CITY MOVIE UPDATE

Jaime King said the upcoming Sin City movie is "the coolest looking and feeling thing you've ever seen."

Appearing on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Thursday, King described the movie.

"It's all in black and white except there's splashes of color," King said. "Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and I are wearing like ... God bless, Rosario, because she's hardly wearing anything. She's wearing like little chains.

"A lot of Sin City is these crazy characters, like corrupt cops, run by prostitutes, but the prostitutes have a heart of gold."

During the interview, a photo from last summer's Comic-Con International was shown of King and Sin City co-stars Alba and Dawson.

"All the hardcore, avid comic-book fans come to check out all the new comic-book movies and comic books," King said. "It's crazy. You've got all the trekkies there and people who dress up in costumes.

"It was pretty cool. It's a crazy experience."

Sin City star Bruce Willis also was a guest on the show, but he was promoting his new film Hostage.

IMAGE COMICS' GØDLAND

Writer Joe Casey is set to launch his first Image Comics ongoing series in June.

GØDLAND features art by Tom Scioli. fresh off Freedom Force, Fantastic Four, and his own Myth of Opus-8. The book introduces readers to Adam Archer, the world's first star-powered superhero. And with powers drawn from the stars, it's only a matter of time before Adam attracts attention that's more alien in nature.

Casey and Scioli intend for each issue to be a complete and satisfying experience, while simultaneously building momentum for a far-reaching, star-spanning superheroic odyssey, introducing an entire universe of new characters including Basil Cronus, Discordia, Crashman, the Tormentor and Friedrich Nickelhead.

"If there is a hook here," Casey said. "I guess it's the 'everything all at once' approach we're taking, where every issue is a complete experience. No writing for the trade. No 'Part 1 of 6' nonsense. GØDLAND is meant to be the kind of comic book that comes straight from the spinner rack.:

Casey said he is fired up to be working on a creator-owned book at Image, and is equally excited to be working with Scioli.

"Tom's proven in his own work that he's got a visual imagination to be reckoned with, and he's definitely pulling out all the stops on this book," Casey said. "Honestly, I would never have considered a series like this without him on board as my co-pilot. His commitment to this particular brand of cosmic epic storytelling has absolutely inspired me."

The first issue will be in stores on June 22.

BRIEFLY

* The Unauthorized Puffed Movie Adaptation debuts in May from IDW Publishing. The 132-page book, written by John Layman with art by Dave Crosland, will cost $15.99.

Here's how IDW describes the book:

"We've all seen -- and pitied -- those unfortunate souls forced to earn their daily bread by donning funny animal costumes and amusing (or terrifying) youngsters. As bad as their lives are in an amusement park setting, imagine having to survive a night in that get-up in the heart of your city¹s worst neighborhood.

"In the darkly hilarious miniseries Puffed, Aaron comes face-to-face with just such a situation, and the results aren¹t pretty! The Unauthorized Puffed Movie Adaptation collects this black comedy classic by Gambit writer John Layman and Heaven LLC¹s Dave Crosland, and pairs it with Stay Puffed, the where-are-they-now follow-up one shot. The original story is expanded with³Director¹s Cut,² additional scenes. But the extras don¹t end there, as a brand-new story, ³Mo¹ Puffed,² is included, too."

Included is a pin-up featuring John Cassaday, Frank Quitely, Sam Kieth, Ashley Wood Jim Mahfood and others.
