SIN CITY MOVIE UPDATE
Appearing on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, Rosario Dawson said the Sin City movie is "very violent and very aggressive."
Dawson, who plays Gail, talked about the lengths the actors went to achieve the looks of their comics counterparts.
"Frank Miller, you could see his face, that he was just amazed," Dawson said. "Mickey Rourke and Benicio del Toro put on prosthetics to look more like the characters. It's like everyone went out of their way to really get into it.
"I showed up and I had this little outfit; it's kind of drawn really crazy. I chopped off all my hair and I had a faux-hawk for it."
Dawson said she enjoyed wearing Gail's outfit.
"The costume designer gave me flowers for wearing it because she thought I was going to go, 'I don't really want to...'" Dawson said. "But I was like, 'No, Let's go." It's cool. It's a great outfit. It's crazy."
In other Sin City news:
* DLP Cinema technology assisted the directors and visual effects team achieve the desired comic-book feel of the movie.
"With a one-to-one ratio to what is done and what is projected, changes can be viewed immediately rather than waiting for days from the traditional photochemical film-based process of color timing," said director Robert Rodriguez. "The DLP Cinema projector was key as both a valuable timesaver and creative tool in the digital workflow."
* Rodriguez will be a guest on CBS' The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Tuesday.

Toy Biz is releasing Assortment 12 of its Spider-Man & Friends six-inch action figures in April.
The assortment includes:
* Beach Patrol Hulk with life preserver launcher.
* Air Rescue Captain America with spinning propeller.
* Web Climbing Spider-Man with crawling spiderpack.
* Claw Catch Wolverine with launch 'n grab claw.
* Sand Box Spider-Man with sand digger.

WILDGUARD: FOOL'S GOLD
Todd Nauck is bringing his "Made-For-TV" heroes, Wildguard, back for another round in July from Image Comics.
Wildguard: Fool's Gold is a two-issue mini series continuing the further
adventures of Nauck's creator-owned superteam. This time around superstar,
team leader and executive producer Four has the team lending its
considerable star power to a charity fashion show. It's all for a worthy
cause: keeping super powered youth on the straight and narrow. But where
WildGuard goes, adventure follows, as attention to wayward super youth can't
come soon enough.
With most of the material already completed, Nauck will be releasing the two
issues in a bi-weekly format IN July. Each issue will contain 30 pages of art and story.
"Summer is the best time for comics! It's fun to get a double dose of a
favorite title," Nauck said. "I remember when X-Men and Spider-Man went
bi-weekly in the summers of the late 80's. That really got me into comic
shops because there was something for me to devote my attention to. I couldn't
miss a chapter."
According to Nauck, it was knowing that he'd have the two issues completely
finished by the time solicitations rolled around that led him to solicit
both issues for the same month.
"So I decided to try and capture some of that
summer fun by giving readers as little time to wait between issues as
possible," he said. "I know fans of Wildguard will enjoy this as they chomp at the bit
waiting for the latest installment. I also hope that new readers will take a
chance by jumping on board."
