SIN CITY MOVIE UPDATE

Sin City topped the box office on Friday in its opening day, pulling in an estimated $12 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Sin City easily topped the second-place film, Beauty Shop, which had an estimated $4.7 million.

In other Sin City news:

* Bruce Willis will be a guest on CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday, followed by Mickey Rourke on Monday, April 11.

* Michael Clarke Duncan will be a guest on CBS' The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Tuesday.

THE BATMAN UPDATE

Ron Perlman, star of the Hellboy movie and its upcoming sequel, provides the voices of Killer Croc in "Swamped," an upcoming episode of The Batman animated series.

Perlman, who also does the voice of Slade in Teen Titans, gives Croc a Bayou accent.

"Swamped" is written by Tom Pugsley and Greg Klein and is directed by Brandon Vietti.

In other The Batman news, the show is moving to weekdays for two weeks staring April 11. It will air in the 4:30 p.m. time period.

Upcoming episodes include "The Bat in the Belfry" on Monday, April 11; "Traction" on Tuesday, April 12; "Call of the Cobblepot" on Wednesday, April 13; "The Man Who Would Be Bat" on Thursday, April 14; "The Big Chill" on Friday, April 15; and "Topsy Turvy" on Saturday, April 16.

FATHOM BEGINNINGS

Aspen Comics has provided The Continuum with a look at the two covers for its Fathom Beginnings books, due in stores in mid-April.

 The "A" cover as well as the limited variant cover "B" are both done by Michael Turner and Peter Steigerwald.  The limited edition cover is the Australia/New Zealand exclusive in conjunction with the Supanova and Armageddon Pop Culture Expos, and is limited to 2,000 copies.

Fathom Beginnings contains a new, full-color seven-page story written by J.T. Krul and featuring the new Fathom art team of Koi Turnbull, Jason Gordeand Christina Strain.

 Fathom Beginnings provides a glimpse into the past events surrounding Aspen Matthews and lays the groundwork for the new upcoming series.

 The issue also features never-before-seen pages from Fathom #1, due for release in June.

* The Japanese animated series "Battle B-Daman" will make its U.S. debut on Saturday during Jetix on ABC Family at 8 a.m. (ET) and Sunday on Toon Disney (9:30 p.m. ET/PT).

In the series, people of the "B-Daworld" have been using B-Daman marble-shooters in sport since ancient times. The story centers on a headstrong boy, Yamato, who has been given Cobalt Blade, the most powerful B-Daman. Yamato will use Cobalt Blade to fend off the members of the evil Shadow Alliance in his quest to become the B-Daman Champion.

The series will air regularly on ABC Family weekend mornings (8-8:30 a.m.) and Sunday evenings on Toon Disney (9:30-10 p.m.) during the networks' Jetix programming block.
