JUGHEAD, BINGO RELATED

Classic character Bingo Wilkin and Jughead Jones share an Uncle Herman, it will be revealed in Jughead & Friends #5 in August from Archie Comics.

In a change only hardcore Archie fans might have noticed, Riverdale regular Jughead Jones had a jovial Uncle Herman. A few years later, Bingo Wilkin had his own Uncle Herman -- who was identical to Jughead's.

"It was just one of those things that we switched around at the time," said Victor Gorelick, Managing Editor for Archie Comic Publications. "Bingo needed an uncle, and we had already created Herman."

But in a rare move to bring two usually separate Archie properties together with a dash of continuity, Archie will reveal the true, previously unheard of link between Bingo and Hughead.

"The idea was something we just tossed around casually," said Nelson Ribeiro, ACP's Digest Editor. "But the more we talked about it, the more it seemed like a fun idea to try. Mainly to create a good story, but also as a wink to longtime fans."

Bingo Wilkin, "That Wilkin Boy," first appeared in That Wilkin Boy #1 in January 1969.

* Animation house MasterMinds Unlimited has optioned its first property, MasterMinds, as a feature to the Korean 3D animation studio DG Spot and its production arm, Morph Studio LLC. The deal marks DG Spot's move into original content production with Morph Studio's representation after years as a production house for TV and video games. Capping the deal, Stan Lee has agreed to contribute a voice to the project.

MasterMinds is the story of five freakish felons who have only one thing standing between them and global domination each other! Led by The Maniacal Monocle, their ranks include: mad scientist Doktor Pimento, giant robot CPU-571, mobster Vinnie DiThug and the mutant monkey Gorilla Kang. Doomed by over-complicated plans and ridiculous infighting, they're driven by the dream of being able to call the shots for just one day.

"MasterMinds is a story for everyone who ever wished that Wylie E. Coyote would catch the Road Runner," said co-creator Aaron Sowd. "It's about five guys who stick to their dreams no matter how utterly misguided those dreams really are."
