Sunday, June 5, 2005BATMAN BEGINS UPDATE
Katie Holmes, who plays Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins, said she is interested in returning for a sequel.
"Exactly," she said when co-star Michael Caine proclaimed at the press junket that he would return "in a minute."
Neither is signed for a sequel, however. Batman Begins star Christian Bale is on board for a total of three films.
Holmes dismissed a notion to be in another comics film such as Wonder Woman.
"I loved working on this movie, Batman Begins," she said. "I like this story, and I'd love to do another Batman movie."
Look for a full feature on Holmes later this week here in The Continuum.
In other Batman Begins news:
* Scott Beatty said it wasn't difficult writing the comics adaptation of the film.
"The script by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer, it's all there," said Beatty, who hadn't seen the film before Saturday's DC Universe panel at Wizard World Philadelphia. "They got it. All I did was turn it into paper form."
* During the panel, a four-minute video was shown, featuring footage that will also be part of HBO's First Look at on Tuesday night.
* Warner Bros. Interactive has a display on the Wizard World floor for its Batman Begins video game. See the photo above.
* DC Comics' Dan DiDio told The Continuum he had seen the film and was very pleased with how it turned out.

WIZARD WORLD PHILADELPHIA: DCU PANEL
Joe Kubert is returning to DC Comics and his sons are joining the publisher.
That was the big news on Saturday at the DCU Panel at Wizard World Philadelphia.
Shortly after it was announced that Joe Kubert was writing and drawing a new Sgt. Rock series, DC Comics' Dan DiDio introduced Kubert's sons, Adam and Andy, who have signed three-year exclusive contracts with the publisher.
"We're very happy to have them," DiDio said.
DC didn't announced what Adam and Andy will be working on. "They will be doing DC comics," DC's Bob Wayne said coyly.
Joe Kubert's project is called Sgt. Rock: The Prophecy and will be a six-issue mini-series, targeted for next year.

Flanked by several editors and publisher Dan Buckley, Quesada played host to a slide show of upcoming projects and presided over a brisk question-and-answer session with the audience.
