SPIDER-WOMAN COVER
Marvel Comics has released the official cover to Giant-Size Spider-Woman #1, which is scheduled to arrive in stores on July 27.
The 96-page book features an all-new, eight-page story by New Avengers and House of M writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Rick Mays.
Also included are Spider-Woman's first appearance and origin from Marvel Spotlight #72 (February 1977), the original Spider-Woman #1 (April 1978), and the first appearance of Spider-Woman villain Siryn from Spider-Woman #37-#38 (April/June 1971), the last of which also features the X-Men and Nick Fury.
According to Marvel, the new story factors heavily into upcoming New Avengers storylines.
"The Spider-Woman story leads directly into the Spider-Woman two-parter coming up this fall in New Avengers," said Bendis. "It's the first chapter in a wide tapestry on Spider-Woman material that I will be putting out over the year. Now that House is done I am putting a lot of brain juice into the legend of Jessica Drew.
"Expect big things for Spider-Woman later this year!"
