The live-action Transformers movie has been set to open nationwide on July 4, 2007 it was jointly announced on Wednesday by DreamWorks Pictures, Hasbro and Paramount Pictures.

By staking our claim on the 4th of July, 2007, we ensure that we not only have the time to make this movie the way it should be made, but also to build excitement and awareness leading up to its release."

"Fans around the world have wanted a Transformers live-action movie for a long time and we are thrilled to work with DreamWorks and Paramount to bring this legendary saga to life on the big screen," said Brian Goldner, President of Hasbro's U.S. Toy segment. Bill Willingham, writer of Fables, Robin and Day of Vengeance, has renewed his exclusive contract with DC Comics for another two years.

"I am very pleased to have renewed my exclusive agreement with DC Comics," Willingham said. "As a second-timer I now get access to the super-secret DC deluxe executive washroom, spa and hot-tub fiesta room. Yes, I still have to occasionally sweep up around the DC offices, but I hear that goes away with the third exclusive renewal.

"But seriously, I'll be continuing Fables while also starting a number of exciting new projects -- including an expansion of the Fables universe. Then therešs all the terrific new things going on in the DCU. It's going to continue to be a joy to work with DC during one of the most exciting and innovative periods in its publishing history."

"We're beyond excited that Bill has decided to renew his exclusive agreement," said Shelly Bond, Vertigo Group Editor. "The next year of Fables will prove to be the most incredible one to date. In addition to some shocking twists and turns in the monthly series, illustrated by Mark Buckingham and Steve Leialoha, we'll be releasing other Fables-related projects with contributions by some of the most amazing artists in the industry."

Oni Press, which will stage its Comic-Con International panel on Saturday, on Wednesday unveiled several new projects.

Our tried-and-true favorite creators are moving in compelling new directions with their work, and we are pleased to welcome some very talented new creators into the Oni fold as well."

EigoMANGA's flagship publication series, Rumble Pak and Sakura Pakk, will be released to comic book stores and retail chain bookstores under the DDP banner.
