SUPERMAN'S "SACRIFICE" SELLS OUT

Superman #219 and Action Comics #829 the first two parts of the four-part "Sacrifice" storyline, are now sold out at DC Comics.

Superman #219, written by Mark Verheiden and illustrated by Ed Benes, sold out one week after arriving in stores on arriving in stores on July 7; Action Comics #829, written by Gail Simone and illustrated by John Byrne & Nelson, sold out two weeks after arriving in stores on July 13.

"We always thought the Sacrifice storyline would raise a few eyebrows, but it's great to see the fans responding so strongly," Verheiden said. "Writing Superman has been a thrill, a challenge and -- pinch me, I'm dreaming! -- fun all at the same time, and a lot of credit for this success goes to the great creative teams who worked so hard to make Sacrifice come together. Ed Benes; art is flat-out spectacular, writers Greg Rucka and Gail Simone are great partners in crime, and Editor Eddie Berganza and DC honcho Dan DiDio couldn't have been more supportive. And the best is yet to come!"

"It's very cool that all three issues of Action Comics John and I have done have sold out one right after another," Simone said. "I think it's a tribute to the art team of John Byrne, Nelson, and (colorist) Guy Major and their amazing work on the title."

ALEX SINCLAIR EXCLUSIVE TO DC COMICS

Following his leaving a position as editor at WildStorm, colorist Alex Sinclair has signed a three-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics.

"I love WildStorm more than I can explain -- you don't work at a company for 12 years unless you love that company," Sinclair said. "I will miss my friends immensely, but they will still be there and I can come back and visit whenever I want. And most importantly, I will remain part of the family.

" Signing the exclusive means so much to me because it guarantees that I will continue working for the best comic book publisher, working with the best talent, and coloring the best characters in comics. I look forward to the challenges of full-time freelance and know that it also comes with some perks. Having more time to spend with my family is the ultimate bonus to any deal."

F"Alex has been with WildStorm from virtually day one," said Jim Lee, WildStorm Editorial Director. "It's a blow not to have him in the office every day as an incredible editor and an incredible person, but he's still in the family and he's still local. This will free him up to do more awesome coloring on a lot more of our titles."
