TONY DANIEL EXCLUSIVE TO DC COMICS

Tony Daniel, artist of The Tenth, X-Force, and Spawn: Humankind, has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics.

Danielšs recent credits with DC Comics include Teen Titans and Superman.

"This means so much to me," Daniel said. "There's no other place I'd rather be, and I intend to give DC my sincerest effort. I'm very grateful to (Group Editor) Eddie Berganza and (VP ‹ Executive Editor, DCU) Dan DiDio for believing in my abilities. My enthusiasm can't be told ‹ I'll have to show it."

"It's awesome to be working with Tony," Berganza said. "His work is extremely dynamic and leaps off the page. But don't take my word for it. Check out Superman #220 and Teen Titans #26. There's power to his pencils, and he doesn't skimp on the emotional storytelling, either. Hešs a great addition to the DC team!"

DC did not announce what Daniel would be working on next.

RED SONJA #1 SELLS OUT

Dynamite Entertainment announced on Wednesday afternoon that Red Sonja #1 has sold out from Diamond Comic Distributors, following a sell-out of Red Sonja #0.

"Diamond sold out of issue #1 Tuesday morning, and any orders are now going to back order," said Dynamite representative J. Allen. "We're not going back to press at this moment, as there are a few retailers who showed great support for Red Sonja, and we want to make sure that they sell out before we look into producing more copies -- and based on conversations with retailers across the country, thankfully, they're doing well.

"Wešll be monitoring the boards over the next few weeks, listening to retailer feedback, and seeing if we should or should not go to a second print."

Sonja writer Michael Avon Oeming said: "My first thought is: I'm the luckiest guy in the world, and I have you, the fans, and the retailers, to thank for supporting us, as well as being lucky enough to be working with such great talents as Mike Carey, Mel Rubi, Caesar Rodriguez and Richard Isanove."

In other Red Sonja news, Dynamic Forces announced an October release for its premiere Red Sonja Trading Cards series.

"With the Dynamite Red Sonja Series doing so well, and the creators giving their very best to tell such a compelling story and produce such great artwork, the time is right to be releasing the trading cards," said DF President Nick Barrucci. "So, we're highlighting all of the art featuring Sonja over her entire comics career. It's the best of the old and the new and everything in between!˛

In addition to the trading cards, Dynamic will be offering a regular binder and a deluxe binder, which features a bonus card signed by Rubi.
