WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO: DC PANEL

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Dan DiDio said that JLA #119, the final issue of the five-part "Crisis of Conscience" arc written by Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg, will have serious ramifications in the DC Universe.

Speaking at DC Comics' panel at Wizard World on Friday, DiDio compared the issue to Wonder Woman #219, which closed the "Sacrifice" story.

"It will have the same level of impact," DiDio said.

In the issue, due in September, the JLA must face off against Despero in Wayne Manor. But in order to stop Despero, the team will be forced to turn against one of its own.

The art is by Chris Bautista and Mark Farmer. DiDio said that Bautista drew Hawkman so well in JLA that there are plans to use him in the Hawkman title.

The issue figures to be another step leading to Infinite Crisis, which begins in October.

DC's Bob Wayne said he has seen the first issue of Infinite Crisis.

"Whatever you think is going to happen in the first issue, I'll bet you're wrong," he said. "They've shown me, and I've been twiching ever since."

In other news from the panel:
