VAMPIRELLA REVELATIONS

Harris Comics has provided The Continuum with a look at the covers to November's Vampirella Revelations #1.

The covers are by Jose Gonzalez and Mark Texeira.

Here's how Harris describes the story, written by Mike Carey:

"Vampirella is back! Confused, desperate for answers, Vampirella turns to a mystic to unravel the tangled threads of her origin. He takes her on a journey to hell and back, deep down into the murky waters of her past -- her real past. What she finds brings her face to face with her mother, her home, and the very moment of her birth."

ALIAS' CHRONO MECHANICS

Chrono Mechanics, an action adventure humor book from Art Thibert and Richard Birdsall, will be published by Alias Comics in November with a new story and new look in Chrono Mechanics: Silver.

"We're excited, of course, to be a part of what Alias is doing. They have an incredibly impressive and diverse library of titles, and really seem to know how to market cartoon styled books," Thibert said. "Our goal with this book is to help it to find the widest audience possible, and we believe Alias can help the readership of Chrono Mechanics continue to expand.

"We are also publishing the Silver story in color, which will add a new dimension to the artwork and help readers enjoy the story even more."

In Chrono Mechanics, a team of repairmen are dispatched to fix the problems that occur when the machine that is Time breaks down. In the new story, the Mechanics are forced to cut short their much-needed vacations to repair a problem of incredible proportions. As they track down a faulty Reality Filter Prism that has the potential to alter every time line in existence, things go from bad to worse as reality begins to resemble an abstract painting. But the real surprise comes as they discover what -- or who -- has caused the crisis.

"The best thing about Chrono Mechanics: Silver is that it's a complete story in a single book," said Mike S. Miller, president of Alias Comics. "This isn't a 22-page monthly series; it's more like a series of novels that fit together as a whole, but donšt need to be read in any particular order. Anyone who missed the original Chrono Mechanics should pick it up, of course, but it's not necessary to have read it to enjoy the new book.

"We are also in talks right now about reprinting the first Chrono Mechanics through Alias, and in color as well."

Chrono Mechanics: Silver will be 52 pages.

BRIEFLY

* Marvel Comics is reporting that the Ultimates and Ultimate Spider-Man annuals have sold out.

"Am I happy about this? Of course, but more relieved than anything else because the orders for this were ridiculously high for a four dollar book and-- I swear to God-- my greatest fear was that retailers had ordered too many and would be feeding these things to pets and children for years to come," said Ultimates writer Mark Millar. "But we sold out! And that's great. And what's even weirder is that there's a huge re-order activity going on too which is completely bloody brilliant so cheers for that. I really should relax more, but I'm more surprised than anyone when this stuff happens. It's insane!"

The Ultimate Spider-Man book introduced Spidey's new girlfriend.

"Making a big change like this in Peter's life is a scary proposition and I can't thank everyone enough for being so open to it," said writer Brian Michael Bendis. "Look forward to all kinds of new story possibilities in the months ahead."
